C63 507 'Black Series'
Result: much better rear end grip than stock, runs like on tracks, rock solid. I love the way it drives!!
Is this the best of both worlds - latest engine, BS body, parking sensors, sunroof?

cheers,

anybody can get any genuine Mercedes part from a variety of online sources cheaper than from a dealership. Some of these online dealers are actually MB dealerships earning money on the side by selling parts at wholesale prices by mailorder.
I used a body shop specialized in upscale cars to do the conversion. It took a long time, among others because many of the parts had to be shipped from Germany, as they were not in stock in NA.
NellyRod: You'll have to explain the 'murdered out look' expression - I had not heard that one before. :-)

BTW USA BS did have the pano roof standard (no option for an alternate roof).
Did you consider doing the track pack option as well with the huge rear wing, front flics, and carbon pieces? Or were those parts just prohibitively expensive?

The 2 questions I always ask somebody doing it is 1_Why not buying a BS in the first place? 2_how much did you end up paying for the finish product?
Did you keep your original rear axle or did you convert to the E class?
Just FYI track package is just rear differential cooling and track tires. Aero package is the CF canard and rear wing. Even with both you still can use the car as a daily driver.
1. Why not a BS to begin with? I wanted a new car and bought one of the last 507s before they stopped making them. During the test drive (in a standard C63 with 457 hp) I did not fully get how much the car was struggling to get the power to the ground. Plus I thought I would find a cheap and simple way to improve the situation. Then I started studying the matter deeper and found out that one cannot just swap out the rear end, since rocker panels connect front and rear, so one step at a time I evolved to doing the whole body conversion. I wanted a quality solution as I expect to keep the car for the long term.
2. How much did it cost? Way too much to justify logically! :-)
3. Did I change to the E-class rear axle? No, just made the wheel come out more via different rim width and offset vs the 507.
Thanks for the comments!
