Is 35k fair for trade-in value on my 2010 with 12k miles?

I have a 2010 Palladium Silver on Ash leather C63 with 12k miles.
Great shape, always garaged, no issues, no tunes.
Options: ipod integration, lighting package, and AMG leather package, no multimedia/nav.
Only mods: Carlsson front lip.

Trade-in value they gave me was $35k. Think that's fair?

KBB typically reads higher than edmunds.

I traded in my 09 with 67k miles for slightly over 30k. KBB and Edmunds gave me a price of 28k for dealer and 31k for private party

NADA will be most accurate, but that seems close. I bought my loaded 09 with LSD and Delimiter, 17K miles for $41K CPO.

Dealers go by Mannheim auction reports for trade, this is how they keep from getting hurt.
Depending on the deal they are sitting in for the vehicle you are trading for I wouldn't settle for less than $2k more for yours or $2k off the car you're buying as initial numbers typically allow for $2more K.

Thank you. All comments helpful. Still on the fence though.

My advice would be to get a value from carmax for free and compare
35k sounds low but it's right in line with nada and kbb

You're only giving half of the info required to think about this. What's the trade in for? What sort of discount are they willing to provide on the purchase? That's a major factor, for obvious reasons, as it's a huge negotiating point, right?

Exactly. There is a big tax advantage when "trading in" vs just selling the car off.

I agree with what you're saying. I'm getting a good deal on the new car (according to truecar). The $35k is also what a used dealer offered me in cash, no trade-in. I agree with the tax benefit. 7% tax in NJ. So if I use it toward a new car, the $35k is the same as doing a private sale at $37.5.

The short answer is no 35K is not enough for your car with that kind of mileage. Heck your motor is just broken in. Assuming excellent condition, low miles, and supply and demand your car should yield you 38K plus your sales tax.

If you car is turn key it should sell for 40-41K. Best of luck.

Yea, that is exactly how edmunds has it. Dealer trade at $35K and Retail at $40K.

Dealer is going to make sure they don't lose money on a car, so for something like this they are going to go off of auction prices just in case they can't move it and then can just dump it there.

So the short answer is yes, $35k is a fair price at a dealer for trade.

No multimedia meaning you only have the little screen and not the pop up nav screen? That kills the value imo. I think many people shopping c63s won't even consider non-nav cars so consider the dealer trade-in the best you're going to do.

last time I checked, MB navigation is dated and blows. I actually did not want it.

Agreed. I don't even use the factory nav. Iphone does a pretty great job and I can use it while driving (don't flame).

While you may hold this opinion, whether it is true or not, it still hurts the value of the car; dealer or private sale.

I agree it hurts value. Maybe by $1k. I think $35k is probably fair. Don't flame me, but i'm looking at a 2014 wrangler unlimited. Go USA! flamesuit on.

I would take it. Trying to sell a car is a pain in the *** bc a lot of people will waste your time. You will also save on the taxes if you trade it in so your prob better off.

Just wanted to share that I was offered as much as $37k on my trade-in, but I just couldn't part with my car. Just couldn't do it. A lot of effort and negotiating gone to waste, but frankly there is no car at this price that can put this kind of smile on my face when I get behind the wheel. That is all.
