how many miles after warninglight

The warninglight for my (rear) brakepads came on.
I have ordered new pads but they are not in yet.
How many miles can I safely drive (normal daily)?

thanks!

Rolf

The rears wear slowly and the sensor is shot anyways so I wouldn't sweat a few hundred miles or more

Just keep an eye on the rotor for unusual wear and noise

The oem pads on my rs4 had the pins securing the pad protrude out further than the sensor
If you waited for the sensor the discs were ruined
So I kept an eye on them and changed them regularly
I could buy oem pads for $140 F & R online

If there is still some pad left you should be fine for a few hundred miles

You should also be replacing rotors with the pads, because these are high performance brakes and should be kept well within spec.

How many milesvon the pads & rotors?
I'd mic them and see if they are within spec
>40% left reuse, otherwise replace

Yep measure your rotors. Chances are you won't need to change them.

I will check thickness of the pads tomorrow. It's difficult to see when everything is installed

How many miles?
Measure the rotor too
Not sure what min spec is but usually stamped on the rotor
