Has anyone ever floored their C63???
I was just wondering has anybody ever just floored their C63 from a complete stop? I tried that the other day in S mode and the throttle response wasnt very quick, it actually kind of lagged.. The rpm needle would go all the way up all of a sudden then go down then up again.. Probably not the best thing for the engine, which is why I probably wont do it again. Just wanted to get your guys thoughts on this, thanks.

Lol you were spinning out, that's why. Next time put it in M and try again. To answer your question, don't think people buy a c63 and don't floor it.
Floored both my c63's from 0 at every light when I first got each. In before oh my god break in period.

What was your traction control setting? On, Sport, or Off?
If it was on, its probably because the car tried to go, and given how are cars are, too much power not enough rubber, the traction came on which is why it went up, then down, then up again.

Flooring it from a standstill needs some practice. As others mentioned it will feel as if the car isnt going anywhere simply because your are spinning tires. Gotta ease into it a bit. Your not running quarter miles on the street so really no need for pedal to the metal action

^Lol, yea traction control was on and I was in S mode, it just felt weird with the car not going anywhere but I understand the logistics now better. Like Kriston said, it does take some practice to get it right the next time around

That was the traction control (which was on and in its most intrusive setting) cutting the throttle.
Engage ESP Sport or ESP Off. Also, when flooring the car, roll on the throttle (instead of violently mashing it) to avoid just smoking the tires. Unless you want to initiate a monstrous burnout.

Based on what I've read here... If you decided to turn off traction control and try this again make sure you are in an open space so if you lose it you wont hit anything.
Not really digging at your driving abilities, but I seriously recommend this. If you're flooring this car with traction control on you are in for a big surprised when you do it with TC off.
Feather it or you'll be facing the other direction before you know it.

Do it, do it, do it! But yes, do it with caution. And yes, it's traction control and stability control. Turn it off and see what happens... with caution.

Dammit jcfay, quit posting that crap on the bottom of your posts. Every time I see one of your posts I've got to stop and watch Capt America dance another ten or fifteen times. I'm sitting here in the dark chuckling, my wife thinks I'm losing it and I've wasted half my evening because of you.

i thought the car wasnt super impressive at first when mashing the throttle at a stop, but then i realized it was the TC cutting throttle to avoid spinning the tires....getting a tune also helped.
What surprised me was how quick i can get the tires to slip if i accelerate into a turn too soon, this sucker just unleashes like no other.

OP, this is just about the learning-curve that the C63 presents to new owners.
I came from an Infiniti G35, which had much less power/torque, but had equally-intrusive traction control when you're trying to perform a hard launch. The Infiniti V6 provided just enough torque <2000rpm to hard-launch under full-throttle. The AMG V8 in the C63 provides WAY too much torque to attempt the same.
Your best bet is to turn traction control completely off, and feather the throttle as you reach the adhesion limits of your rear tires. "Flooring it" will only result in a huge burnout and very little forward momentum...
