Closing the trunk 2013 C63 Sedan
Is it just my car or is closing the trunk quite an ordeal in the 2013 sedan?
I have to slam it REALLY hard for it to close, otherwise it keeps opening up on it's own if I just close it.

Mine's not an ordeal, it does close with a semi-firm push. It pops out if i try to close too gently but its the same case with other cars.
for me, the hood has to be slammed hard to make sure it closes

It shouldnt be that difficult. Has your car ever been in an accident before? There are a couple adjustments. One being the bumpers. They are round rubbers that just turn on the botton of the trunk lid. Should be 4 of them. Next would be the striker if its set too low. The other adjustment most dont know about is the spring tension that pulls the trunk open. Theres a couple different holes that change the stretch/tension of the spring - these arent your problem but just thought id share.

You can adjust the level of effort it requires to close the trunk very easily. This is a 5-minute DIY.
See post #7 by roadtalonsti - very informative and spot on.

Yep
Adjusted mine
Turned the bumpers in until no contact
Then adjusted the hook until the trunk was flush and body lines matched when closed
Then turned bumpers until they barely made contact
I put a little water on the bumper(s) and closed the trunk
I turned them out 1 or 2 turns until they made contact ( got the contact point wet)
There are 4 bumpers
2 on the bottom/trunk lip
2 on the sides/trunk top
Good info on the opening springs
Did not know that
Is the adjustment on the body or trunk end?
How do you access?
Thanks

Hmm, I remember some years ago (like maybe 6-7 years ago) there was this genius in the Netherlands (I think) and he would retrofit anything.
He had a W202 or W203 and he put everything in it. It was a low spec diesel, and he kitted it out with nearly every option I think. All OEM.
I remember thinking, what a genius. King!
I think he had a business and one could pay him to retrofit things. He was a perfectionist.
Anyhow.
