I tried with Mobil 1 in the past and it helped, but combined with Motul it was like butter butter butter.

If you want to jump on I'd recommend d running LiquiMoly Ceratec first, then upon your next oil change start cycling in LiquiMoly MoS2 as recommended by LiquiMoly. I drive my car hard and after 1.5 weeks of driving Mobil seemed to lose that fresh oil change feeling. Motul with LiquiMoly felt as strong as it did day of oil change.

The oil make and type is on the B service receipt.

Ouch, that's not good. How long have you been running it?

I would get after them asap! I would also recommend having the oil tested as well.

I would still have the oil tested and get something out of the dealership. That's a major mistake.

The big quesiton is why did you drive your car 24k miles without changing the oil - it seems to test ok still, but not a fan of running that close to the limit myself!

Big fan of Motul 8100 x-cess myself, run it in my 335i and C63.

Bad wording on my part. 24k covered three Motul changes, the first and last were tested. In general I go about 8k between changes.

This line in the manual makes me not want to do that until my warranty is over.

"Do not blend oil additives with engine oil. They may damage the engine. Damage or malfunctions resulting from blending oil additives are not covered by the Mercedes-Benz Limited Warranty."

If you're at less than 4 years and 50k miles, sure...but once you've elapsed that warranty, time live life on the edge and make more power while having more protection.

L-M states one bottle is good for 1.5 gallons of oil (or, 6 quarts). Has one bottle been sufficient in your experience or are you measuring out the precise amount necessary for 9 quarts of oil?

I'll answer that. My last UOA showed 138 ppm of moly with a half-bottle maintenance dose of MOS2 added with new oil. That's too low for me - I was expecting over 200 ppm which is the min level I am looking for. So, the easiest is to add a full bottle at every oil change.

I agree...I add a whole bottle upon every oil change.

Ok, so just to clarify, one bottle os MoS2 is sufficient for the 9 quarts we use, and NOT a bottle and a half (which would be the "correct amount", according to L-M).

I've never mentioned this before to anyone but's absolutely true. And particularly true when (I) (you) have been using MOS2 over multiple changes. Idle is very noticeably "creamy-smooth."

The initial dose should be the "strongest." I added the recommended amount of 1.5 btls.

I dosed with CeraTec, ran that through for a couple thousand miles, and have been follow-up dosing with one bottle of MOS2 at subsequent oil changes for about a year now. Idle is much smoother and lifters are quieter too. I'm usually pretty skeptical of additives, but after thoroughly researching on BITOG (where the positive experiences and UOA results are in the clear majority), and now seeing a difference on my car, I'm a believer.

I picked up a bottle of MoS2 over the weekend and too noticed that we'd need 1.5 bottles to meet their recommended dosage.

That being said, for those starting out on this, the recommendation is to:

1) Run Ceratec through during your initial oil change (5k miles)
2) Upon future oil changes, add 1.5 bottles of MoS2.

Correct?
