Question C63 Extended Paddles, your thoughts?

I have just fitted these, please excuse the finger prints all over them
The screws that hold them on are pants imho so I bonded them on.

i think the original paddles and the add ons need to be wrapped black and then they will look good

how much did you pay for them and where did you get them?

Not digging it,

In other news, my manufacturer in China can make me a CAD drawing of the original paddles, so it looks like we are moving forward with making true replacement paddles!

Ill keep everyone updated in the other thread here:

Er... why?

If you hold the steering wheel where you should (at the 9 & 3 position), the OEM ones are, well, perfect.

If you incorrectly hold the steering wheel at 10 & 2, then you pulling on the "extended" portion would only act as a lever that's centered at the middle of the OEM paddle, in effect producing a twisting motion on it, same as you pulling back on the top part but pushing out at the bottom. No idea if/how this is going to do affect the hinges and microswitches in the steering wheel, but it can't be good. And, they look fugly to boot, and proabaly partially obscure the gauges.

Just because you can do something it doesn't mean that you should.

sorry but i think they look cheap and nasty and these size paddles are only really ergonomically useful (and even then only really during spririted driving( for those cars where the paddles are connected to the steering column rather than the wheel and dont move with the wheel
