Rattle creak from rear deck of '14 507 Coupe...

I gotta figure this one out. It's driving me nuts. The rear deck of my car is creaking and rattling like crazy over less-than-perfectly-smooth roads at 25-45mph. I crawled in the back while the wife drove and it was definitely in the area of the rear shelf but nothing I did in terms of holding the different pieces made any impact. Anyone else experience this? I'd love some guidance before I leave it in the hands of the dealer. The only saving grace is that it's not intermittent, it's constant, and nobody could ever claim "unable to duplicate."

Oh man, welcome to the club. You should try to get used to all the squeaks, creaks, and rattles! It may be the rear sunshade, btw.

Unfortunately, no rear sunshade in this little beauty.

Some rattles I can deal with, some not so much. This rear shelf creak is like Chinese water torture.

Ive also noticed alot of squeaking when I roll out slowly or come to a stop, I dont think its the brake pads, but maybe something to do with the wheel bearings?? Cant figure it out and it's driving me crazy..

I have the same problem with my coupe, it is also the only thing that rattles in my car.
I thought something in the front was rattling, but it was just my coins.

I have the same issue with my coupe...honestly, just chalk it up to the panoramic room...that thing creaks like crazy. I'm just used to it...and I keep my music turned up to drown it out.

I don't think it's the roof. Although that does play its own tune at times.

It's something in the rear deck and I'm gonna chalk it up to MB needs to fix it! I'll keep you all posted.

It could also be the rear seat latches. Those squeaked in my old car. The fix was lubing the latching mechanism.

In my coupe, all the creaks and rattles come from the plastic surrounding the navigation screen. Only noticeable on bumpy freeways at 60+ mph, but when it kicks in, it's so bad I want to take a sledge hammer to the navi. You'd think MB would have worked out these kinks prior to releasing a car.

My creaks are from the brake light in the rear. Other than that no other types of creaking so far.

as tight as the stock suspension is there's going to be some popping and creaking of plastic, no way around that especially if you add outside temperature to that such as our 100f summers here.

I just turn up the music. You could also get headers. Boom, problem solved.

C-class woes my friend.

try checking the underbody plastic panels. one of the bolts on mine came off and another was loose and the thing was creaking like crazy. drove me insane trying to figure out if it was coming from the trunk, the door, etc.

+1 on the rear shelf rattle on the coupe. Does sound rather irritating (much more so that any other "occasional" rattle). Dropping the rear seat backs and slamming them back up semms to clear it up for a bit (it's not the actual seat backs in my case). I suspect it's the speakers or speaker grilles.

I had the same problem with my '12 Coupe.

Took it back to the dealer and they acknowledged it to be a 'known issue' (here in the UK). They added a bit more padding n stuff - and its been silent for the past 12 months.

I sat in the back while my wife drove and in my car it's definitely coming from components attached to the rear shelf. Annoying as all hell.

Try wedging some folded up pieces of paper here and there to localize the rattling.

I was never able to identify any particular part that would allow me to wedge anything in there to stop the noise. I pushed, tugged, held and wedged every part back there and it had no effect on it whatsoever.

Did you check the seat backs latches as well?
