I wrapped my own car and did some research into all the options. The general consensus is that gloss vinyl will never have the depth of a real paint job. That's not to say that it won't look good. You can find pics online of cars that are wrapped in gloss vinyl and they look great.

Ah, sorry! The original color is Capri Blue.
As far as cost, it's all dependent on the color you choose. It is priced by the square foot. For a very basic color, like a matte black, figure a car our size is probably about $2500. For something like mine, the cost obviously goes up from there. Also, part of the cost is in the complexity of the design of the vehicle, for example all the little detail areas like the front bumper on the PFL cars, etc...
Figure if you want a metallic matte or even gloss color, you're going to spend $3500-4000 depending on color, etc...

i don't think those prices are very accurate. the vinyl costs roughly $400-$500 regardless of color. glossy colors are all the same price as matte colors. there are some exceptions to this (chrome colors, carbon fiber vinyls, etc), but for the most part this is true.
the only factor that really changes anything is the labor cost. people charge different amounts and the difficulty of a car can be factored into that. i've seen people charge as low as $1500 to as much as $5000 for a full wrap.

True, the labor cost is really what's going to make a difference. The material cost is all fairly similar, again varying slightly depending on basic colors vs metallic vs gloss.

According to the shop that i went to....wraps are good for only 4 years and then the wrap will start to really mate with the paint making it difficult to unwrap just incase you change colors down the road. So i wrapped my roof first to see how it looked and to see how durable it will be.

MBWorld Fanatic!
MJ50 - that is without a doubt the gd hottest Toyobaru I have ever seen. The TE-37s look as brilliant as the wrap.
