I'm looking at a couple of used C63 and trying to figure out which ones have Performance Package and a limited slip differential. Its really hard to tell which cars have them. In a couple of cases the owners know the car has the Performance or Development package but they don't know about the LSD. Is there another way to check for the LSD option? By VIN? Some other thing you can physically for in photos of the car? Different diff case?

For 2012+ I believe red calipers, alcantara steering wheel, and CF trunk spoiler. Not sure if there's more to it aesthetically.

Just post the VINs of those you want checked, and I can verfiy and provide Datacards as required.

If you really want to know you can run the VIN at a dealership or sign up for EPC Online (which is free) to pull datacards yourself at https://epc.startekinfo.com/epc/welcome.jsp

For 2012+ the LSD was a $2K stand alone option so if the owner does not know if it has an LSD it's nearly certain the car doesn't have it. Please don't spam the forum with datacards requests :P

This might work elsewhere (Canada?) but not in the states. This will tell you whether or not you have a P31, but the LSD was an option in the states and not part of the P31 package. You'll need to get the VIN and have it checked by someone who can see the parts list for it.

Thanks, I signed up for EPC Online but I can't seem to get it to play well with my Mac. Is their a FAQ or description somewhere of how to use this site as a VIN decoder?

I've found a few owners that bought cars off the lot in Southern California with LSDs and they had no idea what they were or that they had them until I asked if they still had the window sticker. Unfortunately not everyone keeps the window sticker.

Ah, you learn something new every day. I just picked mine up a couple of weeks ago and I checked my window sticker and luckily I do have it! Kind of embarrassed I didn't know this already haha

Looks to be an Edition 1 car. None of them have factory LSDs. They all have the same options as they were setup by Mercedes. Note that only the coupes have the p31 (development) package.

Oh bummer. Seems silly to have all that go-fast paint, black wheels, red stitching without the obvious performance options to back it up.

Not sure how many times I have posted this, but here it goes again

Everyone in the USA can go to EPCnet Online and register. It is free for USA customers. They do ask for a credit card number, but that is just to verify that you do live in the USA. I have been using it for years

It is an Electronic Parts Catalog (EPC) for Mercedes. You just enter your VIN and you can look up all of the parts for you vehicle.

You can also pull up and print the Data Card which will show all of the options on that specific vehicle.

Comes in very handy for researching Mercedes and for maintaining them, if you do your own work

It is still a 450hp V8! A tune will make a 'regular' C63 the same hp as the p31 C63 (~480hp). Most 2012s are going to be out of warranty soon anyway.

LSDs are obviously nice to have from the get go, but there are vendors that offer an aftermarket option for $2K.

thank you. i got the Canadian edition 1, which comes with p30 , lsd and carbon trim. quite different comparing with the US edition 1

When you get the data card, you are looking for code 471, that is the code for LSD installed from factory on the car.
