Rennen or Forgestar Wheels
Hello,
I am looking for opinion for my next set of 19 wheels for summer. I have a black C63 looking at Rennen RS-51 in graphite grey or Forgestar F14 in a dark burst bronze.
Rennen wheels are light weight and flow formed wheels and Forgestar are cast wheels.
Anyone have experience with either wheel company? Which wheel is stronger And better quality?
Thanks

I have been running the Rennen forged one-piece M9 wheels in graphite gray on my CLK63BS for the last 4 years and have about 25K miles on them with no complaints. The car is my daily driver and the wheels have withstood the northeast streets and weather quite well. I haven't heard much about their non-forged wheels however.

+1 on what most others here said... both of those are flow-formed, which (all other things being equal) are marginaly stronger than high-pressure cast wheels but not in the same league as forged wheels. If strength and light weight are your primary considerations, I would also try to save a bit more money and buy a forged set. If all you're after is looks, buy whatever looks best to YOU.

Plenty of people bag the Forgestars but there are a large number of very happy buyers on here. I run CF10s. I would not however consider buying the Forgestar F14 as there is a large volume of material online that suggests they are at real risk of cracking. Perhaps Forgestar have modified the F14 since early production to overcome the problem (as far as I am aware Forgestar never conceded there was a problem) but I would not take the risk.

Actually I don't believe the RS-51 wheels the OP is looking at are made by Rennen as I was not able to find that model on their site. I believe the wheels the OP is referring to are made by Renn Motorsports which is a different company and for which there is a separate thread about the wheels from one of the vendors.

Id go Vorstiener Flowformed/ HRE Flowformed before ever touching Forgestars. Forgestar has the WORST customer service and theres a reason why shops have started to drop them as a vendor

Wait until you damage one and it takes 8 months to replace....... not to mention the brutal lead time in the first place.

Must concede that you may well be spot on with getting a replacment wheel from Forgestar - some horror stories out there.
Prices for Vorsteiner and HRE are signifiantly higher and even more so if you are buying in Austrralia.
