C63 AMG Edition 507 or C63 AMG w205
Hi all
I am new to this forum and sorry if this question has been asked before (I did not find what I was looking for in the search box).
I live in South Africa. I would like to purchase a C63 AMG Edition 507as I like the 6.2 v8 engine and the looks of the car. The C63 AMG w205 is coming to South Africa in about a months time. I am not sure weather to buy the edition 507 or get the new specification.
Also if I get the Edition 507, will it hold its value being a limited edition and could it become a collectable.
Thank you all in advance.

Ford Truck, 2014 C63 AMG 507
This is the last year you'll be able to get a new NA C63. New W205s will be around for years to come.
I was in the W205 at a recent car show and really dislike the stuck on command screen. That thing is just a suction cup away from being a Tom Tom on the windshield.
MB should have gone the route of Audi who gives theirs a place to disappear to.
Before seeing the W205 in person I read where others praised the interior. After being in it I see that it has nothing over the interior of a 507.
Exterior looks aren't too bad but definitely not as stand out as the W204.
Sure the W205 should be better on the track but that should be the natural evolution of a vehicle, to improve as time moves on.
Drive them both. See which provides the largest grin.
Drive them both and decide for yourself.

Well for the same price, I'd probably take the w205 because the turbo engine will be easier to tune to crazy power levels.
But for 30k$ more, that decision just became a no-brainer, get the 507. The most beautiful and bad *** of the C63s (this side of a BS).

2014 C63 AMG 507 sedan
I was in the same dilemma as you a few months ago. I was waiting for the w205 c63 to come out to cross shop it with the f80 M3. Then I found a brand new 507 sedan. End of story.
1st year production cars will have its share of headaches. There will be future versions and facelifts. With the 507, you know what you're getting. The final expression of the w204 C63 with a proven platform and magnificent engine. In 5-10 years, everyone will have a turbocharged car. Not many will have a 6.2l NA V8.

Thank you. I will get the 507. Everybody seems to praise it. Been in one and no words to describe how excellent it was. The w205 has been around in the South African market for about 8 months now and I just don't like the looks of the back and interior.

NA V8
I was considering same options 3 months ago and bought NA V8 at the end (not 507, but standard C63 as I was too impatient to wait for 507). Watch few videos how the engine is build, check how big are valves, the engine itself, read some articles about NA engines and specifically about this one from AMG factory and taking the final decision will be easy like Sunday morning...
And, as mentioned, in a few years, almost all cars will have downsized turbocharged V4 od V6, but not you :-) Sound of engine, without any electronic enhancement, is just awesome.
Hope we'll see pics of your 507 on this forum soon :-)

I have a 507 as I did not want a sedan, and definitely do not want 1st year model of any high-strung performance car (for example look up headbolt issues for C63, Audi fuel injector issues, IMS issues for Porsche).
The W205 C63 also looks soft. I dislike the rear and the weird spoiler.

I just picked up a C63 507 after making the same decision versus waiting on a C63 w205.
I like the front of the w205, but hate the back end of it. Also the media display looks atrocious in my mind, however, the rest of the interior looks GREAT.

Me personally , this close to the w205 c63 launch I'd wait to see and test drive one in person. While I'm not s fan of the styling the engine is what makes the car and that engine looks like it could be a monster when tuned.....but I'd wager you could get a better deal on a 507
