Wheel Spin on Dyno
I recently visited a non-MB focussed tuner for a dyno session. They are predominantly FWD and Haldex specialists but, they have dyno'd many cars.
I put my Eurocharged Coupe on their dyno and they seemed pretty clueless about the correct setting to place it in, first of all having no idea how to engage Dyno Mode and secondly choosing not to use manual mode.
Regardless I guess it doesn't matter as they couldn't get it to hook up at all. As soon as the car reached the mid-range and upwards where the Eurocharged tune really allows it to start moving it would blow the tires off on the dyno and if held long enough, up-change gear.
They had a few goes but gave up, with the strongest run only making it to 5700rpm before they let off as it spun the wheels. I'm not sure whether to be pleased or not as at 5700rpm it recorded a very stock 460hp at the crank, the same as it made stock (pre-Eurocharged) at another shop at around 6800rpm.
I think I'll give up with this shop, i thought I'd get a fairly true before/after result since both shops have Maha dynometers but, any tips to stop it spinning should it occur again? I suppose I really shouldn't have to tell the operator how to do his job anyway.

That's pretty much how mine went down with a little side to side action also. They secured it using the rear tow-eye which I thought was inadequate.

Clearly they were not up to speed on how to dyno your car correctly. I would think twice about taking it there. May be great place but don't sound like they are familiar with how to properly dyno it.
