2014 C63 AMG 507, 2013 Honda Civic
Should I buy a C63 AMG? Help please.
I'n considering a C63 AMG right now, maybe even a 507 Edition if the dealer comes back with a reasonable offer.
But I have some questions I was hoping you guys who have these cars might be able to help me with.
1) We just had a baby (9 weeks ago) and I plan to use this car to take him around. My wife has a Civic, but we both will have baby seats in our car. Is this a safe car for infants to be in?
2) I live in Toronto, and winters can be harsh. Lots of snow and ice. With proper winter tires, can this car confidently drive in the winter. Again, with a baby.
3) How is the reliability of these cars? What is maintenance like? Just trying to get an idea of cost of ownership for this car.
I took a 2012 C63 AMG out for a test drive a few days ago, and I fell in love immediately.
Just need to do my due diligence, as being a new father, I need to make sure this car is the right car. Was also considering an Audi S4 due to the AWD for winter.
Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you

C63 AMG 507 Sedan
I am in Calgary. This car can't be your daily driving car in winter, especially you have a baby. I will probably put on a set Nokian studed tires next winter. It should help (a lot?).
The car is really fun to drive in summer. Get it new when you still can.

Here is one of many threads talking about drive ability in snow https://mbworld.org/forums/c63-amg-w...63-winter.html Many C63 owners live in constant snow places and don't have a problem.
Also yes...never think about getting a C63, just do it...you won't regret it.

Why not consider a E63 wagon instead? Or a C63 wagon (can't remember if they're available in Canada)? The extra space will help with baby-related things and extra weight will definitely help in the snow with the proper winter tires.
Congrats and the wee one!

2012 C63
I live in Toronto too and I just bought a C63 a couple of weeks ago.Which dealership is the car you were looking at in? I might have looked at the car while shopping for mine.
If you live downtown Toronto, the car will be fine. My friend with a 507 drove through winter last year on summers- he just stayed home during the few snowstorms we had. The roads get cleaned up really fast, so his car was out of commission for less than 10 days. I plan on putting winters on my car during winters and that should be fine.
Reliability wise the car should be great from what I hear. 2012+ are not affected by the headbolt issue. You will wear through tires pretty fast, however. New tires are not too cheap either. I was seeing 325CAD for each rear tire (18in) at Canadian Tire.
If you do decide to go for the car, you will not be disappointed!

2014 C63 AMG 507, 2013 Honda Civic
Appreciate all the replies.
I'm talking to a dealer right know about a 507 Edition. I test drove a regular 2012 C63 AMG the other day, and was blown away. I was an M3 guy in the past, but that has been replaced by the Merc.
Just trying to figure out if this is a reasonable car to get when I have a 9 week old baby. Does anyone put an infant in the back of their car?

I will definitely recommend a safe sturdy car sear for your daughter. I currently use the Diono Radian RXT, and that is placed right in the middle. It is one of the few extended rear facing car seats that is rated for infant use. It's one of the narrowest seats in the market (17" wide). The one drawback is that it's quite a big seat to install in the back seat of a C63. If you're over 6 feet, it will not work behind you. The other seat I considered was the Clek Foonf. These 2 seats are full metal supports and quite heavy. I definitely feel the quality and safety in these seats when I strap my daughter in it.
