There are conflicting opinions on many topics discussed here. I don't see why this topic should be the only one where everyone posting needs to agree.
Maybe we should all just agree that Mobil1 is the best oil for every Mercedes application, always!
We might also agree that this discussion has strayed so far from it's original purpose that it no longer belongs in this forum and should be shut down by a moderator...

discussion

[dih-skuhsh-uh n] /dɪˈskʌʃ ən/

noun 1. an act or instance of discussing; consideration or examination by argument, comment, etc., especially to explore solutions; informal debate.

Same applies to you bud! If some have anti-gun views, why don't you skip/stay out of those posts and read whats relevant to you? Last time I checked, this was an open forum and there WILL be discussions on some topics, like it or not. If I disagree about something, I am going to put my point across. Bash it if you will, but its my CHOICE to post something in a thread or not to post something.

Who? Who is Andy MHP?

I can assure you this is not an alias. I have used this screen name for about 11 years now on every forum I join and used to be my personalized plate for many years on my 93 cobra.

Can't wait to see it. Take pics in different locations so we all can vote on where it looks best/most functional!

Sounds like you need to reevaluate your lifestyle. Ever hear that old statement, "Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me". Let's modify it a bit for conversations sake. Pull a knife on me once shame on you, pull a knife on me twice shame on me, pull a knife on me 8+ more times means you're an F-ing idiot for going to these places! Come on man really!?!? What do these "clubs" present to you that is worth the risk? The chicks have berry flavored nipples ?

And if you generalize all gun owners to your experience of having "met a ton of drug dealers who are idiots with guns" then you're the idiot, but I think we already determined that from your first sentence. Good luck testing Darwin's theory.

Sorry OP this was my last off topic post.

Another completely off-topic post, but here it goes.

I see lots of my friends here from the USA where gun ownership is allowed talking about how weapons make them feel safer and more secure and try to think of various ways when guns can come in "handy" in this or that potential situation, and I see lots of others opposing their views on gun ownership.

What I don't see is anyone offering the viewpoint of those who, say, came from different parts of the world where military service is (or was) compulsory and had to serve in said military, and in the course of their service in some little skirmish in some little village had to actually take another persons' life despite their own moral convictions (or perhaps ignorance or indifference at least until that point). I'd like to see all of the brave souls that have taken another man's life that they may have otherwise been friends with and played soccer with as kids - not because he had raped their wife, slaughtered their children and burned their home but because they were ordered to do so - afterwards go on boasting about how a gun makes them feel powerful and how useful it could be. Or, perhaps the viewpoint of a police officer who in the line of duty had to shoot a teenager that was reaching for his wallet instead of what the officer at the time thought was a gun. I also don't see anyone talkign about the experience of being shot at, although that is rather understandable seeing as bullets usually have a way of killing people which in turn makes them incapable of posting on car web sites.

It is the OP's constitutional and for that matter moral right to own and carry a weapon in his car in his country, and he is certianly entitled to do so and ask questions about it regardless of what I or others may think about guns in general. Now, for as long as the issue is "where do I (legally) store my gun in my C63", then it is relvant for the purposes of the board and can certainly be discussed here. The moment it turns into a discussion about gun ownership in general though, I would kindly ask that those that wish to participate is such a discussion please take it to a different venue, if for no other reason then simply out of respect for those that have unfortunately been on either side of a weapon that was actually fired at another human being.

Pics added to original post.

Due to having the windows tinted yesterday, I cannot take a picture with the door closed and the window down. Should be able to do that Sunday. However since I went with the 'zombie' holster which has a bright green trim and seems a little bulky, I am sure it would be visible if you were speaking with a officer on the side of a road.

On a positive note, this mount is compatible with any holster that has a belt loop or clip. So I believe with a nice slimline holster it would be a lot more inconspicuous.

All in all I like the mount, just want to purchase a different holster

First thing, just because people own a gun it doesn't mean they know how to use it, yes, we all agree. Such as those individuals who shoot sideways launching the gun forward with each shot with their head down in one direction and arm up in the air. Whatever. I'm just going to assume that those who carry here at least have decent fundamentals and are going to hit things while they control their adrenaline should a situation arise.

As for having a knife pulled on you 10+ times. I don't even know where to begin here... My first assumption with that whole paragraph is that because you were in the club you were drinking. And because you were drinking you had it in you to tell said knife wielders to just get it over with or walk away. Because, as mentioned, I call BS if you are sober and yelling at a guy with a knife to stab you. Let's just say, if I was hunting a deer and one walked right up to me I'd shoot it. That's all it takes, one person to call your bluff and insert cold hard steal into your organs multiple times, maybe your gf too, or friends your with.. While you lay on the cold pavement coughing up blood that leaves your muscles useless, he takes all your valuables and vanishes into the darkness as a sense of hopelessness and death becomes reality. Suddenly darkness consumes your peripherals and you cant fight it off. Lastly, the darkness takes over your sight and your dead. So, unless you're hammered, I'm not buying it.

ALL IT TAKES IS ONE PERSON TO DO THAT TO YOU.

As for <30 seconds... I could disassemble and assemble a machine gun in roughly 40-45 seconds. 30 seconds is a lifetime. If someone wants you dead it is going to happen in less than 5. However, I don't CC for that situation because, as mentioned, if they want me dead then I'm dead.

CC works if you see a mother being carjacked with her babies in the car. CC works if you see a store clerk being held at gunpoint over the $50 in the cash register.

***CC works when you see a homeless person looking for their next fix with a knife up against an innocent person who is leaving the club with their friends after having a great night***

People who kill for the "fun" of it, or that whole deer hunting reference, are what we call serial killers. Sick, sadistic, messed up people. Killing is not fun. However, sometimes it is the only answer and necessary. That homeless guy that your daring to stab you isn't going to say to himself
"well gee willickers, you just took the fun out of it for me, boo hoo sir, boo..hoo." No, he's going to say "Oh, alright, thanks for allowing me to stab you and take your money... I'll shoot up to your memory."

Fukin had a knife pulled on you "easily" 10+ times and walk around like nothing happened....
First let me say that I'm Canadian ... and PRO gun ownership. I myself own, along with a few other family members, what some would call a small arsenal LOL

That being said, I find carrying a firearm on a day to day someone useless. Like it's been mention above, if someone wants to kill you, they will.

If you're being car jacked, having a handgun in your glove box is likely not going to help you much.

I guess what i'm wondering the most is, where do you all live that you feel such fear? If you don't think you can freely go about your day in total piece of mind ... maybe it's time to move LOL

Well, my final words. If you WANT to carry, and you can LAWFULLY do so, by all means, I'm in total support. But do it knowing that it's your right and privilege and not for some reasoning of fear.

No one here said they were carrying due to fear. Being prepared =! Being scared.

Agreed. Its not fear for me. I am 45 years old and never been in a situation where I needed a gun for self defense.

I carry because I can and I feel that if I carry in the car it needs to be placed in a useful area.

If I don't carry and something does go wrong, shame on me, if I do carry and something goes wrong shame is no longer an issue and I give myself the opportunity to at least protect myself the best I can. Odds of having to use my rights are slim to none, but if I need to, I can.
Guns aren't for everyone, fact of the matter is, guns probably aren't for most, but I can only control me, and that's exactly why I cc, for those not mentally equipped to carry who do.
To cc you must possess the right mind set. A lot of responsibility is required to cc.

So, let's all agree to disagree. Purpose of this thread was not hash out our views on carrying a weapon, it was to discuss whether anyone had tried this mount or knew of others.

So if anyone is interested, I do like the mount as of now. I do not care for the holster that I ordered with it for this application. Good thing is, it will work with any belt loop/clip style holster.
Since the Merc is going in the body shop for some hail damage repair tomorrow, I am going to try it out in my mustangs and F250 this week

What don't you like about the holster part (apart from the bright green )? Does it now fit the gun snug...too loose? Also does the mount/clip part move when you go to draw the gun out?

No, nothing moves..

Fits the gun fine, its a thicker material than my IWB and the other holster that I keep the gun in. When I get the car back I am going to try the one that came with the gun.

And I may order a kydex made one from the place that was mentioned earlier in the thread
