Alternative to the Michelin pss?

The back order on the pss is killing me. I don't want to wait any longer. Since this is holding up the shipping on my new wheels.

What is a good alternative to the pss. Sizes would be 275/30/19 and 245/35/19.

I've heard good things about the Yokahoma AD08Rs. No personal experience. I loved the Bridgestone S04s I had. They are like 90% of what tha PSS I have now are. I am thinking about getting S04s for my Lexus to save a few bucks but still have a really nice tire on there

I have potenza re-11s and they're really nice. I got them because the pilots were out of stock or something when I got my wheels but now that I have them I don't think I'd buy anything else. They're not too loud, drive well in the rain, and have extremely good grip. I can do 65-70 around some pretty tight on ramps (with coilovers) and still feel confident in them. Ive put around 8000 miles on them with my fair share of power slides/burnouts/donuts and they still have a decent amount of tread left. I'll be getting new rears soon but if you're looking for an alternative to Michelins they're a great choice.

I've had re11's for years, but can't seem to get more than 6k miles out of the rears. I've recently switched to the Michelin Pilot Sport AS3's (since the PSS' were out of stock), and they are pretty good. I've only driven about 1,000 miles so far, but they have a 500 wear rating.

Continental dw is supposed to be really good, and Yokohama advan as well

I've never gotten much tread life from Bridgestone, but the protenza gets nice reviews

+3 on the RE11. 2nd summer season and I doubt they will last. I am pretty hard on them though.

Don't get me wrong, if it wasn't a matter of time and money, I'd get RE11's all day long.

My Continental ExtremeContact DW (max performance summer) tires are great. They hook up well, they look sharp, they're quiet, and they ride very smoothly/comfortably.

Steering feel is good too. I'd give PSS tires a slight edge when it comes to aggressive cornering in dry conditions.

The thing that impresses me most about the DW tires is their performance in wet conditions. The best part? They're not crazy expensive.

what surprised me was the DW and PSS were right about the same price at discount tires. I went PSS for the couple extra dollars, and they were able to get them in quicker..but wet weather tires they are not.

end of the day the tires aren't going to last that long anyway so you can try something else in a year

It is that time for me to get new tires too, and the PSS are on back order for 6 weeks in Oregon! I can not wait that long. The PSS were my first choice, but it sounds like some people are saying the Continental ExtremeContact DW are a good alternative. What about the Continental ControlContact Sport AS or the Michelin Pilot A/S 3?

Looking for something comfortable with traction, good reliability and wear since I don't drive my car thattttt hard. It also rains a lot here too, but my car won't be seeing much rain. Thanks guys!

I have the Conti Extreme DW and they are great.

I also had Advan Sports AD05's and they were great as well, but burned out in 6K Miles.

The Conti's are quiet and rides smoother than the Advans. But the Advans are sticky as heck.

Although the other tires seem comparable, I'm going to wait for the Michelin. I've got time left on original set, I think they are worth the wait. Had them on my m3 and thought they were way better than the oem continentals. I expect that will b true for my c63.

The Conti ExtremeContact DW is an all around great tire IMHO. Easily as good, if not better in the wet than the PSS and about the same as the PSS on the dry. Neither the DW or PSS are quite as sticky as the Advan in the dry but both provide a LOT more mileage over the Advan overall. Personally, I'd only run the Advan's on a dedicated set of track wheels for lapping days.

TireRack can get a set of the ExtremeContact DWs to your door for under $1k right now.

Check Discount Tire ( on eBay ONLY) they have $100 off orders $400 or more. I placed two separate orders that totaled just over $400 each and received $100 of each order (full set of 4 tires).

Lots of the good tires have gone fast but you may still find a deal.

I'm a big fan of the good year eagle f1's that I'm running for my rears. It has stiffer sidewalls when compared to my michelin pss' s. It has good grip when powering out of the corners.

For myself, if I were u I would wait for the PSS.. I waited 2-3 months last year, and I dont regret it. Now all my cars are on PSS, great performance and good treadwear.
