Pre 2011 and Post 2011 Brakes.

Hi All

i have a quick question

im currently in need to replace my rotors on my 2012 c63 (or so the dealer says... MB Canada basically states i must when changing pads to keep warranty... fine)

however im a bit confused as to what is interchangeable

i have a 2012 P30 package (canadian equivalent - 1.5 piece rotor)

and i know that the non perforamnce package fits

however im about to order some online (as the dealer quoted me 1700/corner CAD for fronts) but the part numbers dont match up

2012 C63 w/ Perf package Part # - 212 421 0521
2011 C63 Rotor w/ perf Package - 2194210212

autohausaz (one of the ony places that ships to canada with what seems to be a very good rep) has the 2011 in but not the 2012.

My question is are these rotors interchangeable? i would assume not but i also know the only real diff between these two is one is the "1.5" piece rotor and the 2011 is the true floating rotor.

Any help would be appreciated or any other vendor willing to ship to canada. OEDiscountparts stopped shipped to canada 8 months ago

Before you order online for OEM parts consider some Girodisc replacements.

https://mbworld.org/forums/c63-amg-w...-packages.html

They are cheaper, lighter, actually vent directionally and servicable.

Let me know if you would like some pricing. I can get a set out to Canada asap.

No worries, to at least answer your question they are all interchangeable.

They are interchangeable, but the part numbers are different because they are different types of rotors ('1.5' vs two piece). The regular rotors are also a different part number as well (2044211212). To confuse you further Canada names options differently so a 2012 canadian P30 car has the equivalent of US P31 rotors.

The part number for the 1.5 piece rotor is 2124210512, RMEuropean, ECStuning and Pelican Parts are all popular in the US and have them in stock, but you will have to check with them on shipping charges to Canada.

It's also worth noting that the regular rotors are like $150 vs. $800 for the 1.5 piece, so one thing to consider is how much saving ~8 lbs a rotor is worth to you.

The performance package disc change occurred during the 2010MY. Early '10's had the P30 true two piece disc & later P31's got the new 1.5 piece discs so you would think from mid year 2010 & up they would be the same part #

Ok I searched the part #'s & 2124210512 is the new 1.5 piece disc & 2194210212 is the true 2 piece disc which is also listed for 2010 & 2009 which doesn't make sense, all 2011's had the new disc.

btw, I have 75,000km's on my 2010 & still original pads & discs
