According to a ebay seller from Germany:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Rare-Mercedes-Benz-AMG-Steering-wheel-Airsag-Edition-1-/131552854035?hash=item1ea1294013&vxp=mtr
◇ The Steering wheel is compatible to all of the above mentioned models ◇
◇ but only if your car has the steering column module of a new type - as in the picture below ◇

Its not clear from his photos which car does the steering column must come from.... I have 2010 C300 and I'm wondering if a steering column from "Face lifted 2012 C300" will work or does it have to be from W212 (with out sifter stalk) like some members have mentioned....

I think all 204 (pre facelift and facelift) have the "old" column.
W212 pre facelift has also the old, w212 facelift has the new column i think.

But.... I still have not found anyone on the forum that actually did swap the steering column and confirmed that button illumination issue was resolved. Has anyone seen it anywhere on the forum??

Don`t know what you mean...
I installed a facelift steering wheel in my 204 pre facelift and also changed the column.
Without changing the column the button lights didn`t light up...

Im sorry for allot of questions, but I don't understand and I want to understand 100%

*What year and model did "you" install steering column in order to get the lights on buttons to work when you installed facelift W204 steering wheel?

*Also, maybe for W205 steering to work on pre facelift W204 you need to install steering column from facelift W212??..... Because from the above photos, it looks like seller is saying that "new style" of steering column is needed....

There are 4 different column's from w212 you have to choose from:

- without cruise control, without Memory: A212 900 7703
- without c c, with Memory: A212 900 8103
- with c c, without Memory: A212 900 7502
- with c c, with Memory: A212 900 7702

All parts for sedan, not estate!
Estate has different parts cause of the back wiper.

I received my W205 steering wheel and airbag in the mail today, looks amazing. Purchased them separately from different sellers.

It might not be as soon as I expected. I just sold my C300 and I have my eye on couple C63's (2008 or 2009). I figured if Im going to be doing all these nice upgrades, might as well do them to a slightly better car

Not yet. I did not end up purchasing C63. I bought 2011 E550 and will be installing the steering wheel in it in the next week or do. I'll post pics once it's done.

Today I installed W205 steering wheel onto my 2011 W212 E550. The removal and installation was simple but my buttons, pedals and lighting does not work
So I hear I need a new steering column from facelifted W212, I wish somebody guaranteed that it would resolve the issue .... Here are some pictures of what it looked like before and after.

thx for sharing. have you tried to retrofit the module in your orignal steering wheel to the new one? when i retrofit a 507 steering to my 2012 c63 (and buttons/horn doesnt work either) i was told that it is necessary to replace the control module to the new wheel. and it works
