....... Not really sure it was worth the extra hassle over the FL W204 wheel, but its done now, and is a marked improvement.
Yeah, if you already own a C63, I don't see it being worth the money or hassle. Of course, I don't see the attraction to change out a PFL for a FL wheel.
Quick Question, i read this whole thread and i need some clarification, im looking to just update the Controls on the steering column but not the wheel itself, i ordered the same exact functioning controls as i currently have, will this swap over no problem?
Hello everyone
Once after getting all cmponentes for installation I have been annoyed.
It turns out that we have the 5-speed gearbox, we can do the installation of the steering wheel with paddles, because you can not activate.
I had previously read, that if they could install, but to review the information before making the installacion, I have seen that only can be installed in the gearbox 7-speed.
I have a 2007 (pre-facelift W204) C-Class sedan. My car is manual and does not have cruise control.
If I buy the steering column from one of the late facelift models (as the one pictured above), will I have any issues with my car as I think cruise control was standard to all facelfit models (i.e. error messages, etc.)?
Moreover, as most used steering wheels have paddles for the automatic gearbox, would that be a problem for my car and the retrofit in general? Or I need to buy one without the paddles to avoid any issues?
Not necessary. My friend managed to get a shop in Singapore to retrofit the new W205 steering wheel to his pre-facelift W204. All buttons work as they should without changing to the newer steering column. Coding is probably involved to make the retrofit work. His is a C200 but I don't think that's a factor.
You can find one from a manual car.. I have one like it in my car.. Though you will have no issues with any version. No errors show in cluster.
Thank you for your response and help.
Therefore, to summarise what I read from other topics included in the forum, we need a steering column with the following part numbers to get a fully fuctional wheel :
I will be installing the W205 Retrofit from Revosport next week. Apparently our PFL cars don't even need the slip collar from the FL W204's to retrofit the W205 wheel and airbag.
How can you even ask if you need a new airbag? Cant you see?
That wheel in you picture is the standard version wheel. Most go for the sport or AMG version.
Since you have the new steering column you will onlu ned a airbag and a wheel. But make sure it is a wheel with arrows on the left buttons or it will not work.. But finding one in that color will probebly be close to impossible if you dont buy it all brand new.
Sorry, I didnt know if steering wheel include airbag or I need to buy it seperately. Never mind.
Do I also need to buy contact plate/control module?
And please explain me why there are two versions of steering wheel, with/wihout arrows on the left side. Are new models W205 also with these kind of steering wheels that have arrows or it is only for people who wants to upgrade w204 steering wheel with w205?
Thanks in advance.
Exactly Are the w205 control buttons fit plug and play to the w204 facelife connections ?
So the facelift w204 owners need only the steering wheel, control buttons and the new w205 airbag or?
Just installed mine but my Airbag left front one has an error (I’m assuming the steering wheel). Has anyone had any experience getting a dealer to do an Airbag sensor reset or where to get it done? If you’re in LA that would be even more helpful!
Hi guys, does anybody know exactly which steering column do I have to buy for retrofit this SW in my 2009 w212 coupe (pre facelift) car??
now I have no paddles and my steering column is the old style one
