Headers and Tune question

Headers and Tune question
I have an existing tune and intake right now. With long tube headers and x pipe I would be gaining an additional 60hp. 40 from the headers and 20 from the x pipe. Since I already have an existing tune, would 60 additional hp from the headers be the max? I know retuning it will get rid of the CEL code but will retuning it also provide more than 60 hp or will it just be 60? Thanks in advance.

Headers need a header tune. Not just for the CEL but also for the increased airflow. It does not make sense to spend 3-4 grand for headers and not make the upgrade complete with a matching tune.

Sorry. It was meant for the OP. OP just seems to not want to retune for headers so I was asking where he got it. If it was a local shop, then a retune would cost more (no excuse in my book), but if he got an OE or EC tune or a similar company that offers free retunes, then maybe he just didnt know.

Chrisridebike, not sure who you are asking about the tune, mine is from MHP ( Modern Horsepower ) and I am very happy with it!
I went with MHP as well Did you get the American Racing Headers w/ 3" pipes, if so you need a retuen of ECU

They told me it was tuned for it, sent it to Weistec and now runs great
