Closing in on First C63 Purchase
Hi. New here. I'm closing in on my first C63. As expected, running into a few option issues.
All coupes, all black. I want the w204 specifically. Was looking at leasing a 2015 w204 for tax purposes, but the numbers didn't make sense. So here's where I'm at:
1. $67k, 2014, 10k miles, CPO, Renntech tune, LSD, tints done at dealer (fwiw), terrible red interior
2. $58k, 2013 16k miles, CPO, P31, perfect looking spec
3. $64k, 2014, 500 miles, CPO, Base, perfect looking spec
Aside from the price difference (they're not getting $67k for that car...507 money, which they told me the tune "makes up for" lol), what is the feeling about the P31? I'm not really into modding, so the Renntech tune (allegedly 517hp and 485tq, and some other small things. Warranty intact.)
Also, I'd likely throw in prepaid maint, but not sure about extended warranty. Still on the fence about it. It's ~$5k. The only thing about the maint is that they say 10k miles/1 year...seems a little light. I think the prepaid is like $2500, so maybe someone here can clarify for me what you actually get.
The 507s I've seen are nice, but more than I want to spend. I also hate the wheels and don't want to deal with swapping out etc.
This is literally a weekend car. No track, no real modding (would like to do one of the secondary/resonator delete or whatever to make it a little louder). So I guess I'm just asking for opinions. Is there a general consensus that later model is better or definitely get P31/not etc? Getting purchase order for #1 emailed today apparently, so we'll see how this dealer operates.
Thanks

2. quite the list of options. P31 has LSD, forged internals (good especially if you want to go with supercharging), has the MCT transmission, 481 hp.
3. LOW MILES.
comparing 1 and 3, its only a 3k price difference. That 3k could easily get you a good tune, an xpipe and a LSD. From those two, I would pick 3. not to mention the mileage difference in a very close price range. basically a brand new car.
Then theres the P31. Have fun deciding!

All are CPO so i wouldn't worry. Personally the only reason I would pick #3 is because it is essentially a brand new car.. its not even broken in yet (break in period is at 1000 miles.. atleast it was for my car when i bought it in 2010..)

First of all, I think the price should be far less than what it is for all of them considering the 507 is out and so is the W205. So negotiate on that first and then go from there. I like the idea of almost a new car but the lack of P31 is sad. Remember tuning and anything else quite possibly may void your warranty so no point getting the extended warranty if that's the route you plan to go. That being said I got Eurocharged tune on my P31 and if I ever do need to go to the dealer then I can put it back to stock before doing that.

I received back the second one, the '13 p31 and am leaning toward that. While I'm not planning on modding it, I like the idea of a little more power and whatever added resale value the package offers for down the road. Plus I want the LSD.
It came in at $71xxx warrantied to 5/2020 (unlimited powertrain mileage) and with 30k of prepaid maint. That's OTD...tax, reg etc. That's not a horrible place to start negotiating.
I just don't like the red interior on that other one. Plus, while I don't really mod my cars, I have friends who do. You don't tune your c63 and just cruise around. There's a higher probability that it was beat on IMO.
So now I'm just waiting on some insurance and accounting numbers and we'll take it from there.
Thanks for the continued input. The information is very helpful.

Yeah it's $6500 total for the extended unlimited mileage powertrain warranty and 30k miles of scheduled maint. All in, it's actually not a terrible price given current warranty pricing (that I'm familiar with at least). That being said, there's still a lot of wiggle room, and the actual sale price has room too.

Thanks guys. This is something I've wanted for a while. A long while.
Will make for an interesting 4th of July weekend. Vegas Thurs-Sunday, then redeye out, and then getting off my layover in ATL Monday morn and picking up the car to drive back to CT.

Congrats, but how the hell did you end up paying 11.5k more than asking price. You paid 11k for extended warranty and service plan? Talk about a kick in the nuts.

I said OTD...Asking price was $63, got down to $57k. Warranty $4k, pre-paid maint $2500, Doc $700, Reg/Title/Temp Plates $360...Tax $4500
At any rate, the deal may actually fall apart now. MBFS had to call and "verify my identity" and according to the sales manager "Some of the answers you gave didn't convince them. There's been a lot of interstate fraud lately, so they're going to need more info.
LOLWUT? MBFS can go **** itself. We'll see.
