Sound clip: Secondary cat / res delete
In an effort to curb some of the discussion, here is a post on my setup that I'll preach until I am blue in the face.
Mikes h-pipe replacing secondary cats with straight pipes in place of resonator. Also have the EC v5 tune
Pros: Louder. No Drone. No CEL headaches. Quiet idle, amazing pure AMG sound under light acceleration, angry screaming wide open.
Cons: None. Seriously, none.
**Disclaimer** This was shot with a Canon PowerShot SX120 camera. In other words, its a little old, spent some time in Afghanistan, and not the best thing on the market. However, I do have a GoPro and am working on an external mic setup for that, so, once I have all the bits and pieces for it I'll shoot a new video and spend some more time on this. This will work for the time being.
Video notes
Video 1: Car set to M w/ traction in sport. Revs 1500, 2500, and 4000. The launch I loaded up to 1500 and ripped it. It might sound like an over-rev but it wasn't, the tires were regaining traction causing fluctuations in RPMs. Honestly, I know I slid a little bit but the way the car hammered me back felt like a mid 11 pass in a quarter.
Video 2: Car set to M w/ traction off. I tried to get the downshift blip here... Trust me, I will do better for you guys. Then a quick tiny tiny burnout to finish it off.
If you're in a rush, start at 30 seconds
Overall, this is just an initial posting on this. Like I said, I will set myself up with a quality external mic and go for a better cruise. The blip was a big miss here and obviously pulling back into my driveway I got the loud snap I wanted. Happens great from 2nd to 1st.
