New purchase C63 507 coupe (Mid ownership refresh)

Hey all,

Just bought my first MB last month after trading in my Audi S5. I picked up a 428 in Munich last year and have always been a car guy, and wow is this a hell of a car. I can go over the one or two features I wish this had but really, who cares, it is ridiculously fun.

Very well made car I look forward to owning. Would like any advice you have for new to MB or AMG you have.

Some pics below, friends already nicknamed it the stormtrooper.

What are the 2 features you wish it had (maybe we can help ). Congrats and welcome! A 507 is always a great choice.

I have your car's twin. Real eyecatcher. Has your aluminum window trim already been blacked out? It looks like it in the pic.

It is black right on the window but inside that weather strip and the door its aluminum. The only two features I want are lines on the backup camera, sounds veey petty typing it but most cars have it. Also, want to download the music from a SD or USB either available, to the onboard hard drive. Both very minor.

Getting use to the media interface. As time goes on and I familiarize myself and like it more and more.

By far the most annoying problem was a rattle that I just got rid of after reading about it here. Needed to open and shut the seat pass through in a more manly way...wish there was a better reason to save face lmao.

Beautiful! I am a new owner of a P31 and I feel exactly the same as you do. I love this thing. The only annoyance I had was the lines missing in backup cam haha. Folding mirrors didnt come on mine but I really dont need them

Enjoy! These cars have character

Congrats, and a Stormtrooper it is indeed, enjoy!

Well, I suppose you could black out the single fin grill and star, the inside of the headlights, replace the corner markers with clear or painted (body colour) markers and black out the badges, door handle chrome and trunk chrome to complete the theme. Don't forget the polished lips and chrome on the centre caps while you are at it...LOL.

Let the mods begin.

The only thing I've done is tinted windows and put a clear protective film on the front of the car. Don't see doing a lot of mods to it anytime in the near future. The only thing I had done to the Audi the entire time I owned it was put different brake pads on to control the dust. Have any of you had problems with the brake dust or changed them out?

I just realized you made the move from an S5 haha. I made a similar move from the Supercharged S4. I am not missing the AWD yet. We will see this winter

Decided to do a mid ownership refresh. Basically everything said above, crazy accurate given how long ago it was. Fender badges, hood emblem, trunk badges all bought before online. The window and trim trunk trim using a vinyl cover. Grill and doorhandles chrome inserts painted, both paint and vinyl are gloss black.

Having all done professionally and bought the badges online. Here's the pics of the stuff getting added. I'll send one when I get the car back.

Ownership

Ownership overview
The mods to black out the chrome are the first I'm doing since buying aside from window tint and clear front film. If you can tell from the pic of the hood emblem the film is yellowing and looking at removing.

Tint is crystalline 40 all around and both the pano pieces. 90% full front windshield.

Miles 30kish. At the shop so not sure.
4 year maintenance completed.
Followed maintenance schedule since purchase
Only thing they said was pass on the year 4 differential fluid change since my miles are lower than normal.
No repairs under warranty or not needed
Will need brakes next year but will get aftermarket before then
On third set of tires
1. Cont factory, lasted less than 8k
2. Super Sports got about 14k
3. PS4S wearing very well so far

Before the PS4S the tail happiness was a real issue. Also using the tire pressure recommend in the gas flap Instead of the door. Running about 40 PSI all around.

The bad
I still miss my back up camera lines
Stereo is great but too sensitive to music quality
Brake dust
MPG about 12, who buys for economy?
Never had a speeding ticket before this car, now I have 3
It makes everything else I drive feel like I'm steering my bed

The good
Everything else
The steering feel and predictability give a lot of confidence
It fast, super fast, hard to describe fast. And it never stops
I have never had a car that made you feel special every time you look at it, start it drive it sit in it.

It turns heads now like it did when it was new. It's the best car I've ever owned and have gotten more satisfaction out of that engine than some relationships.

Looking good, but I am certainly biased to white 507's with blacked out emblems!
