Ticking/Tapping Sound. Is this normal?
Hey all,
I've been having this weird ticking/tapping sound (see video) after spirited driving, and usually after any driving really.
Came home last night after a ten minute drive. Was pushing it here and there, temps never reacehd above 230.
Recently had the secondary cats replaced by dealer under warranty due to this issue, and another noise that was occuring under load.
So is this normal for this car? Anyone else get this?
Thanks in advance.

Man, that's a weird and loud noise. This is with the engine off? I do get occasional clicking from the exhaust contracting, but never got this loud, rhythmic thump.

Mine makes a similar sound but not as long/loud/rythmic like maximus was saying. It almost sounds like a drip is happening somwhere besides the normal cooldown. Where you by a leaky faucet!!

Hey guys,
Yes this is engine off and as you all mentioned its very loud, and very rhythymic.
Before they changed out the secondary cats, it used to be even louder and faster.
I'll try to take another clip today and get some more hard data on time it runs. I'll also take it for a short drive and see if it happens and if not, a longer drive.
Thanks for any input so far! Driving me crazy!!!

As others have said, it's just the pipes cooling down. You MAY want to try loosening and retightening the various exhaust pipe clamps around the flanges as HBC350 indicated in case it was "forcefully jammed in place", but I woudn't lose any sleep over it. It's perfectly normal.
