new owner- 2012 feels unstable on the highway

UPDATE PAGE 4

I just took possession of my P31 C63
Everything on the car is stock

18" wheels front and rear with the split 5 spoke
Continental Sport contact at the front: 235/40/18
Continental Extreme contact rear : 255/35/18
pressure is 39-40 front and 45 rear

tires have GREAT tread 7/32

at take off and under 55mph - car feels fine
over 65-70 on the highway cruising im floating around the lane

is this because i dont have a limited slip and the car is pushing in one direction?
is it that I dont understand F/R with 445 ft/lbs tq?

any help is appreciated before i hit my first track event.

again stock suspension and wheels.... makes no sense to me

Congrats on the new purchase.

By floating around, do you mean pulling left and right at random times?

More like contanstly if I'm on throttle. Not like pulling as if there was an issue with an alignment. It's different hard to explain except for "floating" it's the only word I can think of.

It is definitely not normal to feel like the car is floating.

The lack of an LSD will not be the cause of that feeling.

Get an alignment. Was the car ever in an accident? Aside for the tread depth being even, how does the wear on the tires look? is it even across the tire?

It could be your tires mismatched. Check the suspension too.

Get an alignment. Or at least (if not getting an alignment) get it on a hoist of a suspension place, and get them to check everything is tight, and nothing is prematurely worn out.
Even on newer cars, some parts can be defective.

As previously mention, lack of LSD wont cause this

Is the freeway surface grooved? In my experience, some tires tramline so badly on grooved pavement that I've stopped on the highway because I thought I had a flat tire.

Thank you everyone for your replies.
Tire tread is perfectly even across all 4 and as I mentioned it's different than an alignment pull but I'll do that asap to check

Does anyone know if alignment is covered by the factory warranty?

Your tires are over inflated. Happened to me before. Reduce the PSI to spec and you should be gtg.

I'm actually under spec right now.
Inside the door shows 42 front 46 rear.

I'm at 39/45

^+1. Sounds like tramlining to me. If the car is darting right and left over the drainage grooves with no other rhyme or reason, that'd be my bet.

Mismatched tires will do that.

That 39/45 spec which is front which rear?

Unfortunately no - no grooves on the road... I assume you mean like construction.

Example: today I was cruising in 6th gear (S+ mode if that helps) and wanted to pass an 18 wheeler. Blinker on and I begin to change lanes - car downshifts and I begin to change ... car carries me across 2 lanes to the left. I changed one lane... car "floated" on air the other lane

But it happens within the same lane while cruising too. Just sliding left and right.

Gonna take take a ride with a buddy now and see if he can explain it any better.

new owner- 2012 feels unstable on the highway

He says car feels "loose"

As if something suspension was disconnected

These cars don't have an active suspension do they?

So it's dark but crawled under the car and looked and there does seem to be an electronic dampener of sorts on the front which could be a problem but I would assume if it was I would get a code
