Need advise please! Thanks in advance
First of all thanks for the time.
I am in a little bit of a dilemma so any advice would be appreciated. First post so please be gentle
I am in a position to do a straight trade for a stock 2012 C63 with 88,000 kms, white 4 door ( No headbolt issue ) from a local GM dealership trade in.
My car is a 2008 C63 Non PP palladium grey with a few little upgrades and 130k kms
-Eurocharged V5
-Carbon fiber diffuser, lip and spoiler
-H&R springs
- I have not done the head bolt and its been weighing on my mind and brakes are due and few little rattles here and there
This is a straight trade with no money involved at all. Sounds too good right? well the 2012 has had 3 claims but has a clean title. The car has had one owner since new.
-1st accident - 2013 front left corner damage approx 29K CAD in damages ( no engine damage)
-2nd Claim - Property damage- car was keyed
-3rd claim - 2014 Left rear corner damage - Driver lost control of the car and hit a curb
I test drove the car and inspected it as much as I could and everything seems good and parts replaced were all OEM Mercedes parts.
My wife is pushing me to do the swap and since no money is involved as well.
The 2012 is nice with the updated front end and updated interior. I have also informed my mechanic for proper inspection.
Would you guys pull the trigger?
I have pictures of both cars but I'm not sure how to post them

Does the car have a clean title? 29CAD isn't exactly a small repair? Should have a clean title, but still worth me asking.
I agree through, something's not exactly adding up.

29k damage is definitely something to look into before pulling the trigger, from what i can see the shop that fixed it after the accident didnt use OEM parts as canadian vehicles came with side markers, which the picture you posted is missing, BUT some body shops tend to shoot the price up when fixing accident cars since its an insurance claim depending on which insurance company it had at the time. Take it to a shop that you know and have them look into the damage and go from there...

Just sayin 29K in damage is more than sheet metal and paint.
Plus when you sell it there is where the tears come
In Canada go to the MTO and pay 20 bucks and get the true history of the car, where it came from/ leins/ owners, AUCTIONS I bet it went through just after one of the accidents.
BEWARE

1. Mercedes dealership
2. previous owner
3. business name( the owner just registered it under his business)

Run the VIN through a google search, if it went through an accident auction it should come up on there, not all auctions register the car in their names before sale, Pm me if you need help

keep in mind that one day you're going to try to sell this car and probably take an even bigger hit on the price.....I avoid cars with accidents, 3, I'd never consider. But that's just me
