Might be different in your country, but here in the states any vehicle with a documented race/track history is normally more pricey than an equivalent car with normal street use.
Eventually there will be a following and a demand for a car like this and since there are so few of them, the potential is there for people to pay stupid money for them.
FWIW, I am in total agreement that the dealer should be required to disclose the history since it is titled as a new car, offer full warranty, reduced price, etc
As far as the abuse these cars go through during sessions, I doubt the drivetrain is seeing anything different than what any of us do during years of ownership. (Hi revs, hard braking, pushing the suspension on twisty roads, etc.)
These drivetrains are a lot tougher than some members here give them credit for.
I think it's cool that some of these slip out to the public.

I'm Cpo + factory warranty + ext mb warranty and good price. 3300 miles. according to the mb dealership they assured me it was not an Amg ac car even after I quizzed them on it.
I knew it was once I saw the dest was Laguna seca and Cota and all the other details.
So you guys think it's the same car? In the right light you can see the da decal ghost marks. I'll check today if I can spot the 19 on the bumper that would nail it down.
If anyone has any connections at Amg da I'd like to verify the vin with them for my records.
I've tried reaching out to MB USA but my request has languished. Perhaps they are waiting until after the holidays to look into it.
Thx.

I like your vision qwk.
More to come on this if I keep it.

Yes for a track history, like if driven by a known driver or ranking in a known race series. Academy cars are like rental cars. If you really know the history you might want to stay away.

What you are referring to is called "race pedigree" and academy cars are more akin to rental cars than race cars, as someone pointed out. They definitely do not have pedigree. Race pedigree is derived from the pedigree of the person racing the car, and the prestige of the race itself. An academy car driven by knuckle heads doesn't qualify

Exactly. This ^
Changing the oil on these cars every day is not going to change the fact that they've been drifted, driven at redline for its entire life, and banged off the rev limiter probably EIGHT THOUSAND times. Because that's what you do to these cars. The ADA is a stress test for the manufacturer as much as it's fun and games for the participants. Engine, suspension, etc have all been stressed to their limit. Why do you think this is the first one we've seen on here - because it was probably one of the few that made it through in a condition where it might be pawned off on an unsuspecting buyer.
GET A DIFFERENT CAR

Anyone one here that says this is going to be worth a premium is smoking some very good stuff. These cars are BEAT on. I remember the first thing they told us in the briefing at the morning. "How many of you are AMG owners? *people raise hands including self". I'd like to tell you these are not your cars out there. These are not your brakes, these are not your tires. When we tell you slam on the brakes, slam them! Burn those tires, it's why we have Continental sponsoring this! Don't baby them like you would your own cars, have fun out there!"
If that statement doesn't tell you all you need to know about how these cars are treated, I don't know what will. Those 3,000 miles on the odometer are equal to 60K on a normally driven car, maybe more.

You got racing provenance on that bad boy. I would have wanted the stickers back they looked awesome.
Seriously they encourage you to push them at the ADA. That said I'm sure there are some folks who beat these cars just as hard on the street as the ADA does on the track.

Dog - don't be so hard on your wife Oh #19 is such a tramp!
Appreciate all the input and opinions. It's all very helpful.
In the end it will be a value proposition.
I'll leave it at that for now.
In the mean time enjoy the pics of all the hooligans 'learning' in my car!

Lol sorry couldn't resist.
As for the car, they car well for them... I'll be at the Pro event next week... Want me to ask them anything or ask what you should ask for? (I.e. A warranty on a particular risk)

Dog - I'm on the wait list for this Sat @ COTA......
Anything you can "carefully" ask about car #19... would be most helpful......
I'm sure the right person would open up about warranty, etc... on an unofficial basis.
Be curious to hear an ADA rep opinion on owning one of these machines.
have fun .
Back in the day one of my best friends tried to tame a stripper.... bought her the ring.... and had plans to "invest" her high liquid daily cash intake.......
whil'st fun for a month..... let's just say he didn't get to carry her across the threshold in blissful matrimony.....
she met a doctor with more money, and the abilty to provide life-time plastic surgery ......
#19 wouldn't treat me this way?

Automotive market is a funny one. I see cars at auctions now with unique history that people place a value on that never meant anything to me. But all of us in the hobby have our own views and visions.
