C63 vs. M3/4 - glad I went with MB
C&D just published a long-term review of the 2015 M3. Yikes.
Glad I got a 2015 C63 507 instead, see below.
BTW- I posted earlier about 2 reviews that compared the W204 C63 to the 2015 M3/4, and both said they would choose the W204.
So much for the latest and greatest from BMW.

WHAT WE LIKE: Driving the M3 on great, twisty, traffic-free roads with high speed limits on the way to the track for an all-day lapping session.
WHAT WE DON’T LIKE: That the above scenario never, ever happens, at least not for us. Instead, living with the M3 means enduring the drama of its carbon-ceramic brakes, which repeatedly frighten us when they get wet and pedal feel vanishes, even as BMW is adamant that they are working properly. It also means suffering a loud, bone-jarring ride that cannot be ameliorated, even by switching the adjustable suspension into Comfort mode. It means listening to the muffler do its best impersonation of a garbage disposal filled with rocks when we start the car in the morning, even after multiple visits to service. It means that by this time in our test, some editors are as tired of the car as the car is tired, even if we all still love the way it looks and performs.
WHAT WENT WRONG: Much creaking and groaning and other perplexing noises have yielded few solutions. We’ve had the muffler worked on three times now, trying to get the exhaust flaps and actuators to function properly. It may be fixed or it may not; we’re not really sure what an M3 should sound like on cold startup, but if this is it, it’s too loud and unpleasant. The service department hasn’t been able to troubleshoot a howling noise we’ve been hearing intermittently when turning to the left at lower speeds. It sounds like Chewbacca is trapped under the hood, and different staffers have ascribed it to the steering rack, the brakes, or the suspension. The dealer did successfully cure a ticking noise we experienced under hard cornering by replacing both front wheel bearings.

Shocking to see car and driver be so negative about a bmw

Good thing the w205 c63 didn't have any teething issues reported at all

C63 AMG, P30
I don't think the F8X product line is appealing in any way shape or form. I'm not surprised they've actually given it such a bad review.
Compared to the glorious E9X M3's S65, this thing sounds like a badly tuned go-ped. I love the E9X, but just had to have a Benz once again.
I'd definitely go the same route in terms of W205 C63 vs F8X M.

Having said that, I do like the looks of the new M3/M4. Even the previous generations had good road presence. But I just cannot get past the fact that its now a 6 banger! No matter how much power or performance they can extract out of it... its just wrong! 335s can be 6 cyl. But an M3/M4 should be a V8! I just hope AMG does not take that route for future C63s!!!

as others have said, the M3/m4 looks sick, inside and out.
If it had an 8 cylinder turbo, i'd definitely consider. I have yet to hear an exhaust i like with that car. And that is a deal breaker for me.

Yeah the m3 /m4 do look pretty badass. But I have to agree that they are more common but I do see a lot of Mercedes as well most are c series very few c63 and I have yet to see another 507. And I often hear that my car is the nicest look Benz many have seen makes me feel good about my choice.

Lol I just moved from Campbell like 5 months ago to OC area in SoCal. I see a lot of C Class but I haven't seen a C63 since I bought mine last year. I have seen S & CLS Class AMG's though. However I do see a load of M3/4 which I dust all the time. M3/4 are as common as a Chevy Camaro SS, Dodge Challenger SRT down here which I see many of them. I am shocked that I haven't seen a Shelby yet but I could careless since it's a Ford.
Up in the Bay Area, Tesla's are as common as Honda's, seen them all over especially at work (Stanford). But don't see to many down south. Back to C63's as many as they made I hardly ever seen them.

Price difference for the cars here are actually ridiculous therefore the mentality of the locals here are that they rather pay 3-6k usd for body kit to replicate an amg with ridiculously loud exhaust instead of buying a actual one where we have to pay around 4.3k usd in taxes yearly just for the engine capacity (the higher it is the more expensive it is).

As for the AMG > M topic, I myself went from a 2014 435i (full bolt-ons, E85 tune) to a 2013 C63. It's hard to quantify but even though my 435i had similar performance to an M4, I wasn't ever as eager to drive her as I am with the AMG.
