My brake calipers will be going in to get powdercoated in a few weeks. I know the pre-face lift models have the straight AMG logo and the face lift models have the curved AMG logo. My problem came about when I could find the curved AMG logo but NOT the correct A (Ebay and a few other sites).
Anyhow, I decided to make my own vector based version (top image) and I'd like to get your thoughts. I've been staring at the screen a lil too long. I even took a photo (as straight on as I could) of the caliper and used it as an underlay. I think I have it right but I'd like to double check with you guys before I go thru ordering a set. Does anything look incredibly off?
If anyone is interested in a set, let me know. I'll be putting in my order to have these made in a couple days.

Doesn't look right ("A" is not slanted correctly and too narrow, base should be same size as other letters), but they're caliper decals so may not be noticeable. Why not just buy the ones with the correct "A"? They're all over eBay, that's where I got mine.
EDIT: just checked eBay and there are none to be found. That's weird, I'll have to dig up where I got mine from...

Do you remember the seller you used? All the ones I'm finding on Ebay are curved but using the old "A".

Yup, you got me on it being too narrow. Spacing around the letters were off as well and I rounded the corners of the letters as well. When I pulled it wider, the slant did match. Here's the revision below.
Yeah, I was really hoping it was going to be that easy. But for some reason, I can find a new "A" curved set. Not sure why there's even the old "A" curved since they never came from MB like that.
Is it possible to get factory correct caliper decals from a dealer and not mess around? I ask as a MB dealer I am familiar with offers caliper color modification and offers your choice of Mercedes white or black caliper graphics as part of the job.
Also 561, do you track your car? Have you found someone local in Milwaukee area to do this work confident in high temp use on a track?

The graphics on the stock caliper are painted on. I don't think they're stickers. I did see a post on here from a guy saying he did get some stickers from a dealership in Germany.
No, I do not track the car. Yes, I do have a local powdercoater that does a lot of work with the automotive community, mainly drag racing guys and he hasn't had any complaints from customers. I'll post pictures when I get the work done. Should be in a couple weeks.
I've been looking all over for a good curved updated AMG logo to use for my calipers and have had no luck...so I created one myself. I'm willing to share the vector graphic with anyone that needs it.
The only thing that needs to happen is for the actual graphic to be scaled to the appropriate size before cutting.
Thanks Sharkey! I pulled the image, created a vector file and had them made today. The front decal measurement is 6.1" and 2.8" for the rear. I'm getting the rotors powdercoated on Monday, so we'll see how they look after.

I assumed the front and back were the same curve just at different sizes. Based on what I was able to pull from the web I adjusted the curvature and scaled them based on the dimensions you provided.
Let me know if you are able to get a proper sizing and if so...perhaps I could purchase a set for myself?? Also, I can send the .eps file if you would like: it has the adjustable curve.

You're correct. I sketched the arc from the actual caliper and laid it onto the decal I had made from your image and it's perfect. Both front and rear are the same.
No need to send the file, I just took the image and processed it in Illustrator to create a vector .ai file. I cleaned it up a bit and it worked perfectly. I'll let you know how accurate the sizing is on Monday when I pull the car apart.

No news yet. The powdercoat guy showed up to the shop while I was pulling the calipers off. We ended up tearing down the calipers and prepping them for powdercoating. By the time he left, I realized I had left the decals in my car to check fitment.
He should have them back to me today or tomorrow. I'll apply the decal and clearcoat before I get them back on the car. Between clear coating and travel for work, they may not be installed til mid-next week.
So now that I have the calipers in, I was hoping that they would all work even though they were different in the rear. The fronts are a little larger than OEM but the curve is right. The rears are the right size but the curve is too far off to use. I'll be making a correction today to flatten the curve for the rear and have them recut.
After fixing the curve of the rear calipers, here's a shot of them installed. I have two extra sets of the rear decals in black if anyone is interested.

That color combo looks great. I'll take a set if you still have it. Seeing how good your look I am convinced to take a stab at painting mine.
