OEM Wheel and tire info - for the record

OEM wheel sizes and offsets (same for 18” and 19”)
- Front is 8” width with +45 offset, rear is 9” with +54 offset
- C63 hub center is 66.6mm
- Bolt circle is 5 x 112 mm (corrected)

OEM tire sizes:
- 18's stock is 235/40-18 front and 255/35-18 rear.
- 19's stock is 235/35-19 front and 255/30-19 rear.

Wider Tires:
With stock wheel sizes and offsets and stock ride height, 10 mm wider tires will generally fit without problems:
- 18's at 245/40-18 front and 265/35-18 rear.
- 19's at 245/35-19 front and 265/30-19 rear.
Some brands of 255 mm fronts and 275 mm rears MAY work but fitment may require different wheel offsets, and lowered cars may rub. Wider wheels are recommended. Check forums for feedback on specific tires and fitments.

Most 275's and some 285's fit on the stock 18" rear rims with no rubbing whatsoever

Not to nitpick - but the bolt circle is *exactly* 112mm, not 112.5 mm... perhaps what you meant was 5 x 112?

I'm assuming this is what is meant

either way, great to have all this info compiled into one thread. I know I spent a good amount of time reading through search results to find this same info.

Can you replace a 235/35 19 front with a 245/35 19 and keep the 255/30 19 on the rear. The wheels are 19x8f and 19x9r I am asking this as the rears are new. Your thoughts would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Chris.

It's not an AWD car so variation front to rear is less impactful but if there is too much difference, the ABS and stability control can throw a light.

The general number I have seen thrown around is 3% difference in rolling diameter. Stock it is about 1.5%, if you go to the larger front, you are at 2.8% larger, so may be ok without knowing exactly what the tolerance is that Mercedes builds in - hopefully someone has tried it and can tell you if it worked or not.

Chris - there's something else you're likely forgetting to take into account. An 8" wide rim is barely wide enough for a 235 section tire, and is definitely too narrow for a 245. That would be my primary concern.

That is a great point, always check the tire you are looking to put on the car as even the same size tire may have different max and min widths - the Michelin PS4S for instance in 245/35/19 is 8-9.5" so those would be ok to run on an 8" others may or may not.

Rims size

I have the wider tires as OEM 245 front and 265 rear can I install a wider rim like 8.5 19” front and 99.5 rear with the stock tires?

235/55 18 on 8” rim

I just got my C63 and first order of business was new rubber. I went ahead and had the shop order stock rubber size front (235/40 18) and back (255/35 18).

The shop mounted the tires and I headed home. Upon looking at the rubber in the rears they seemed a bit big for the rim. After investigation I believe all 4 of my rims are the same size - 18”x8”. However, when I take a tape measure to the rims mounted on the car they measure 9”. I assume the barrel is probably 8” ?

Should I switch the rears out for 235/40 or keep the 255/35 on the 8” rim.

I’m no tire expert and any advice is much appreciated!

I know this is an old thread, but maybe I can get some help on wheel fitment for my 2018 c63 sedan. Would 19x9.5 +35 offset fit the rear? Would 19x8.5 +35 or +45 offset for the front? These would be 5x112 bolt pattern.

what tire sizes would be recommended?

Sorry to bring this thread back from the dead but did anyone ever run 275 35 on the stock 18" rears? I assume you would pair this with 245/40 fronts. I am looking to do this because my 204 seems to have no grip at all when taking off in low gears. I am attributing this to the stock all season tires I have on it.. I wanted to switch to the wider tires and a summer variant. I also was concerned about this effecting the engine or transmission.. I've heard that upsizing your tires too much can cause excessive wear on the trans. I also have an aftermarket warranty on my car I doubt this would matter but could deviating from factory tire sizes void certain things that are covered like the trans?

I ran 275/35 on the original 18' multi spokes before changing to forged 19"s.
If you don't have a limited slip diff then you are still going to overpower 275's.
A Wavetrac LSD was my very first mod and made a world of difference to getting off the line and limiting wheel spin.

I'm definitely looking at the wavetrac as my first mod as well but would the wider tires make a noticeable difference in grip? I'm in a pretty hot and dry climate. I was also wondering if I could go up on aspect on this car or would that be too crazy? I was thinking maybe 235/45 in front and 265/40 (or even 275/40) in rear or would this be too tall and ruin the handling?

The higher profile could and most likely will rub somewhere.
Early on I ran E400 8.5/9 x18 wheels and they came with 235/40& 265/35 rears and the fronts caught the lip on my front guard.
Plus, I found that the 265's were actually about 5mm narrower than my Michelin 255's.

When you ran the 275s rear you didn’t have any rubbing or did you have to roll anything? They say it’s oversized for that wheel but did it have a bulge?
