Yet Another P30 Option Question...
OK, I have searched and searched and seem to keep getting different answers. I'm looking at a '12 US-spec C63. Valvestud (Joe) was nice enough to pull the Datacard for it (attached). It has the P30 option (specifically, it says "P30 AMG PERFORMANCE PACKAGE"). It also lists the red brake calipers/spoiler lip as separate items.
My understanding is that the P30 package in '12 does NOT include the reworked engine with the stronger internals and the 30HP bump. However, the Datacard on this car DOES list an option "923 OUTPUT INCREASE OF ENGINES". So this has my completely confused.
There is also NO mention of the LSD, which I thought was automatically included w/ the P30. But then, I thought the red brake calipers and rear spoiler were automatically included, and they ARE mentioned.
Can someone help tell me if this car has the 30HP bump and LSD or not?
Thanks!

P31 was the development package with the horsepower increase from 451 to 481 (connecting rods / pistons / crank from SLS)
LSD was included in P30...i think is was code 471

P31 was all about engine internals and increased horsepower.

OK, I think I got it:

Even more confusing since there used to be a package actually code p30, but they are very different. If you go the dealership and ask for the window sticker printout (i.e. base price with listed options), you'll see the p31.
Look for code 923, that is the one for the extra horsepower. Code 251 is the one for higher top speed, U70 is the red calipers, etc. Code 471 is the LSD, which you may not have since it is a separate option for 2012+.
It is impossible to have a c63 couple with just the p30 package as that is pre-facelift only (in the US)"

c63 p31
I have a 2011 p31 but datacard lists p30 with all the other options, including higher output, but no LSD. I think maybe it was a transition period where MB was too lazy to change the database?

I was only quoting "realjones88". No idea if that's true.
And do you know you have the LSD? Either by visual inspection, or testing (hopefully the fun way!)?

This makes more sense...but then does anyone have any idea what the "923 OUTPUT INCREASE OF ENGINES" option is?
This announcement must either have been preliminary or it was revised. This '12 HAS the P30 package. It's listed right on the Datacard, and it's still called the "P30 AMG Performance Package". So when this announcement says the P30 was discontinued for '10, it's not correct.

2012 P31 C63 Coupe Trackrat, 2019 GLE63S Coupe Beast
P31 with upgraded internals has the titanium-colored intake manifold
Regular internals cars have the light grey colored intake manifold
Easiest way to tell
Don't make this harder than it is

This is the break down of my '13 C63 with optional P31. MY2012 is exactly the same.
As far as I know LSD came standard with P31 in Europe but in US was offered as option.

Thanks guys, I've got it all straight now. This car DOES have the revised engine/power bump, but no LSD. If I decide I need an LSD, I'll go Quaife. Now I just need to finalize the purchase price...

The P31 is a sticker option for the USA that includes the Mercedes build codes p30, 923, U70, etc. LSD (471) has never been included with the P31 in the USA even on the 507hp car (it did come with black series though).
The original p30 package (two piece rotors, stiffer suspension) was replaced with the p31 in 2011. Now given that in the USA the coupe debuted MY2012, that means that all the USA coupes either have the full p31 or nothing.
Now in other countries (Europe for sure) they may still call it p31 and the LSD is included in many of them. In Canada they call it the APX Performance Package and it comes with the LSD AND the carbon fiber interior trim package for 2012+.

W204 C63 Coupe, W166 ML350 BlueTEC, 928GT, C5 Z06 & IS300 race cars, EQE 4Matic+ on order
Correct... and the Canadian APX cars also retain the track-developed, stiffer and 10 mm lower P30 suspension that was completely discontinued in 2010 on the US cars. In total there were only three options on the 2012+ C63s in Canada - the Premium package (which included all "convenience" items), the APX package (as mentioned above), and the CF mirrors which were a stand-alone option.

My car is a 2014 507 edition. My database does not have a P30 or P31 code. It doesn't say anything about power increase, or speed increase.
It does have the P61 Special Model "Grand Edition" listed.
My understanding is that the P61 code includes the engine power increase and speed increase.
Am I correct?
