Are the C63 Coupe's 7G-Tronic or MCT?
Can someone please confirm if the C63 Coupe's had the 7G-Tronic gearbox when released & switched to MCT from September 2012. Autotrader UK is showing all 2011(61) & 2012(12) C63 Coupe's as 7G-Tronic & all 2012(62) to 2014(64) plate C63 Coupe's as MCT. Could I please have some Clarity as so far I have not found an answer on the Internet. Thank You

All facelift (which includes the coupe) should be MCT.

I've just spoken to Mercedes Benz Maindealer parts department & given them a registration number for a 2012(12) plate C63 Coupe & a 2012(62) plate C63 Coupe. They confirmed the Gearbox's are not the same. 2012(12) was showing as W7C700 & the 2012(62) shows as W7C1000...

In US, coupe was released as a 2012 and was not available as a 2011 model. Don't know if UK release date was different, but US readers won't be able to tell you anything about 2011 coupe.
In the US, all coupes were equipped with MCT, also known as the 7G-Tronic Plus. Could that nomenclature be the cause of your question?
What are the numbers in parenthesis (12, 61, 62, etc) in OPs note?

It's UK license plate nomenclature. Basically, a '12' plate is an early 2012 model, while a '62' plate is a late 2012 model.

Any ideas on why the 2012(12) Edition 125 Coupe has a different gearbox number than the late 2012(62) C63 Coupe's?
W7C700: 2012(12) C63 Coupe Edition 125
W7C1000: 2012(62) C63 Coupe MCT 4Matic
W7C761: 2012(62) C63 Coupe MCT
Ultimately the question should be "Does the 2012 C63 Coupe Edition 125 have a MCT Gearbox?"
Autotrader Uk are showing the 2012(12) C63 Coupe Edition 125 as 7G Tronic & the 2012(62) C63 Coupe as 7S MCT
If all Coupe's come with Race Start & only MCT has Race Start then they all should be labelled as MCT including the Edition 125's. What is the difference between 7G & 7S Gearbox?

If you pull the data card on a prefacelift car (7G) this is what you get for the transmission:
G907 TRANSMISSION CODE VERSION 07
GA AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION
If you pull the data card on a 2012 coupe (MCT) this is what you get for the transmission:
G930 TRANSMISSION CODE VERSION 30
GV AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION REINFORCED
The datacard on a 2012 edition 125 matches the 2012 coupe because they have the same transmission: the MCT.
Now that like five people have answered the same question perhaps you can start to believe them. One look at the interior and the RS (race start) on the gear selector could also have given you the same answer.

You are going off what autotrader says?! How many times do you see the wrong type of transmission listed for a car. Not a reliable source. And as other people, including myself, have said, ALL FACELIFT CARS HAVE THE MCT.
MCT has a wet clutch instead of a torque convertor and is said to be able to handle more power. How much more? I don't have the answer. Why does it hold more? Dunno that either.

It should be both. MCT just means it has multi clutch pack instead of a torque converter. 7g tronic is the name of the 7 speed automatic transmission. All c63's have the 7g tronic as well as almost every model up until the new release of the 9 speed with exception to some v12 cars (they held onto the 5psd for quite a while) and the dual clutch cars - cla/gla sls/gts etc...
So your question should really be does my car have a torque converter or MCT. easiest signs of MCT - do you have a rotary knob? does is have c/s/s+/m/rs? is the car slightly jerky at low speeds/parking lots etc. Then you have MCT. it's very obvious if you've ever driven a regular torque converter car before.

Switch the ESP to Sport Handling Mode.
Stand still with your foot hard on the brake.
Turn the transmission selection knob to RS. C to S to S+ to M and then RS.
A message will come up on the screen instructing you to pull the paddle shifter to confirm race start.
Floor the accelerator, and then release the brake.
