Found my carbon fins
This is the leftover material, pretty cool
These are the fins. You can see that I had them cut the pattern with tabs around the inside edges. I figured this would be the best way to attach, by having holes in the diffuser to mate with the tabs, then JBWeld on the inside or insert pins through or something. Didn't get far enough along to try different methods.
These are my original drawing and the cardboard mock-up for fit, prior to creating a CAD file for the CNC machine. All the angles and fit is spot-on.
They're just sitting in a box collecting dust because I sold that diffuser, and I'm going to go in a different direction with what I have now. If anyone wants these pieces to pickup the project where I left off, let me know and I'll let it go for cheap - it's super-high-quality 3/16" carbon plate and not doing me much good sitting in a closet. To be honest, they probably would have been better made out of a lighter honeycomb or balsa sandwich carbon plate, but someone may be able to get these to work.
BTW they are made to fit a Mode Carbon diffuser

Zephyr, did you ever pull the trigger? I have all the same questions.
For me, anything the protrudes far below or far behind the oem looks too aggressive (polite for ricey) for my tastes.
The only ones available that fit this a JL Motoring or Mode Carbon. JLM looks best to me but not sure of the quality. Mode Carbon is almost twice the cost and, I'm sorry, having a yellow Mode Carbon logo on there annoys me.
