Finned differential cooler

Someone has bought lately the finned differential cooler?

I order it two month ago but the seller after many excuses now is telling me that they are not available and have no idea when it will be again. I was installing the Drive shaft Shop axles and want to mount everything together.

Anyone knows if that is true or where I can find it?

Thanks

Do you need the heat sink only? I have one for sale.
Or do you need the differential finned case cover?

Yeah I just installed it last October. Check OEDiscountparts.com they should have it in stock. If you look up my username and "differential" you'll find the part numbers.

https://mbworld.org/forums/c63-amg-w...l-cooling.html

You need the cover if you don't have a BS or ROW car.

Are you within the US? I can't remember who I ordered it from. I want to say ECS tuning but I'd have to check my receipts. I ordered the cover, rectifier (the fins that stick out below) and the 2 screws and they came probably 5 days later. I had them installed with my new wavetrac diff.

My invoice says Skyland Automotive. I'm not sure what website that was. Might have been ecs tuning or oeparts or something. Here is a pic of the invoice. I hope it helps.

I will be getting one of these as well and will be putting it all together when I get my LSD, but does this cover make that big a difference?

The passive heat sink does work but IMHO is not really beneficial unless you are sustaining hard acceleration and cornering situations as you would during a track day, racing, etc. Simply driving around on the street, cruising on the highway, and even being aggressive from time to time won't push the differential fluid temps high enough to warrant a passive or active fluid cooler.

I'm installing one with my Wavetrac purely for the track days we run with our car. I wouldn't spend my money on one if I wasn't.

Just my $.02.

That's the exact reason in which I want one as well. Good to know the fins work a bit. We never had anything for racing back in the 90's like this for our cars.
I also replied to your other thread. Thanks.

Without the finned cover and rectifier I cooked my diff at the track. Oil was displaced out of it and it smelled distinctly burned. Not an issue since I had the cooling installed. So, I agree, while maybe not needed in street driving, it is necessary for tracking.

In general, if anybody has issues getting parts through normal channels, talk to Tracy at OEdiscountparts.com, if you have a shipping address in the US. She really knows how to work the system. She got me the oil cooling upgrade when MBUSA was blocking NA sales and said it was not yet released.
It was funny really, since I posted the info about my successful install on the AMG Private Lounge right under the official announcement that the kit was not yet available in the US. :-)

If you live outside the US, one of us can forward the parts if you want.

Hey guys. Ok I ordered, or tried to from OEDiscountparts.com and they are back ordered. Does anyone know if anyone else sells these filled covers? I bought a bunch of things and will be fitting them on the car soon and would like to get this cover ASAP.

Thanks in advance

Try https://www.getmercedesparts.com or https://www.mbonlineparts.com or maybe the guys at www.ecstuning.com

But if oediscountparts.com can't get it, I would assume that those other sources will also be backordered. It's not the kind of part you stock on the shelves, although who knows maybe you'll get lucky.

Everyone, from OEDiscountparts.com, ECS Tuning, your local Benz dealer, likely has to order at least the cover and the fins from Germany. If Tracy is backordered via OEDiscountparts.com, then I would assume all OE suppliers would be.

I have all my new OEM parts and I won't have time to install my LSD until later this Summer. If you need parts now, PM me...I can sell you mine and I'll re-order with Tracy.
