Poll: Stripe - stay or go?
So I seek your opinion. Should it stay or should it go? Ive set up a poll for votes.

If the thought of looking like a 507 wannabe continues to nag at you, you could always take it off and put on a non-507 style stripe. I think the stripe breaks up the whiteness of the car.

like someone pointed out, most people do not know the difference between a C300 and a C63. couple of days ago, i was at a gas station in some remote part of WA, a red C300 owner walked up to me and said, hey, we have the same car!
Wasn't expecting that so just said 'yeah'

I don't agree with C300s trying to have all the C63 goodies, even without the badging. Different weight class. Not sure how I feel about a C63 putting on all the Black Series goodies, cos thats a different division sort of, but its closer.
BUT
I also notice you put the phrase:
and that's what concerns me. The stripe doesn't say '507' anywhere but it does sort of represent....just trying to decide how much that representation is in my mind vs the mind of others. And if I even like the damn thing lol

I have no problem with the stripes. If someone wants to put the hood on, etc. because they like it, I think it is great. I wasn't saying not to do that.
I am taking a shot at the small number of forum members who seem to obsess over cars not being the "real deal" because the owner puts on a badge from a different model. I agree it is pretty dumb to add a C63 badge to a C300, but I don't see the need to post pictures so I can point and laugh at them.
I bought my C63 because it has the sweetest V8 I've ever heard and the general ownership is a supportive community of gear heads. Not because I wanted to join some elite club.

Going to change the tint. Its not as dark as it looks, and has that front light tint, back limo tint look. Going to go 50% all the way around. Also going to black out the bar on the trunk, the running light surrounds, and some of the grill leaving maybe the star, maybe the star and cross bar. H&Rs go on next week. Not sure about rims yet. May go anywhere on the silver to black spectrum.
Just sort of going one step at a time, as mentioned in my roof thread.

Putting a vinyl livery can be considered "tacky" or "ricey". But from a design aesthetic the stripe breaks up the plain and empty space on the doors. Right between the sculpted side skirts and chiseled fenders/body line.
A perfect example is Domes car. Without the stripes it would look very bland and the contrast on white is so perfect. Like the rug that tied the room together

)... personal pref I guess.
