The rest of this post somehow disappeared while posting but these results are fantastic and consistent with my last UOA of 12k miles ago. Wear metals show no issues of any kind such as camshaft/lifters or bearings. Very, very happy to see this. For MoS 2 users, a prior UOA showed that a full bottle gave 446ppm of moly so a full initial bottle and a half bottle thereafter is the way to go.

I'm guessing you used a "greater than" or "less than" sign. For whatever reason they make any part of the post that comes after disappear.
Numbers and viscosity look right on though.

That's a little concerning.

Good to see someone else using Mos2. I dosed with Ceratec first a couple of oil changes ago, and am now using a bottle of Mos2 with subsequent changes.

Yeah, one more change and I'm done with M1. Using Motul 8100 X-cess 5W-40 my consumption was 1/2 quart per 4k miles over 5 Motul oil changes, so WAY lower. I still have 20 qts of Motul in the garage. On M1, I find that consumption increases as a direct function of throttle input.

That is the hot ticket it seems - the first Ceratec dose and then MoS 2 thereafter. I'm a believer in both of these additives.

It's super consistent with he 0W40 though, I've been asking around. Must be the start up oil ditch theory which makes sense.

Could be that, but I had lots of posting issues with my original account, like not being able to post a new thread at all because of not recognizing any text at all (multiple paragraphs would still yield a "you must enter..." crap) while the newer account I registered to eliminate those issues has never had any problems whatsoever. Go figure...

That sounds like a LOT more than normal. 0.5-1qt between oil changes seems to be 'normal' IMO, with many like me using zero.

Probably both. All I know is a hard 200 mile run with lots of over-5k revs driving = 1/2 qt of M1 consumption. City puttering around and it's one qt every 1.5k miles. Still, there's a huge difference between the two oils.

One last thought about MoS 2 is that I was hoping/expecting it to work well for the bearings. So far, in two cars using MoS 2 for a while now the highest reading of the copper-lead-tin bearing trio has been 2ppm Cu and that in the C63. No lead ever in either car, these bearings look like they can soldier on forever.

Dude. I had TWO track events (4 days total - 5 30min sessions per day) on my last oil because I got lazy (just over 3k miles). Didn't use any oil, and had less than an 1/8th of a cup in the catch can. Some of these engines use a lot, and some use none - no rhyme or reason.

Same thing. Dude.

And that was 30min * 5 sessions * 4 days which is about 800mi if my math is right. They weren't 'soft' miles either. Dude.

I'm like the other 99%. Add a quart every 1500-2000 miles. Just about the same as every other performance car I have owned.

Heck my X6 50i has a 4.4 twin turbo and it uses a quart every 1000 miles.

Oil analysis looks great on both cars.

Where are you guys buying these products any special parts place or website ? I use ZMax. It's 20$ per oil change average. Is this in the additive your using price range? I haven checked my oil for mechanical parts per million by it does feel a lot better and smoother per shift while driving.

ROKT and I must have the only two C63's that don't use oil. No tracking and occasional spirited driving and no oil loss through two oil changes.

Just it up looked up. My last change was at 98K km and I'm at 110K km now. I've put in 1.5L.

Mine is a LOW oil consumption M156 as well. I do 3 day track events at CoTA with negligible loss - but swap oil each time. Then street driving for months produces the same results. I do add 1/2 to 1 qt here and there but maybe once a year.

Thx to you all regarding recommendations on these additives.

Thanks, OP, I'm going to start using these additives with my M1.

ETA: How much of the Ceratec do you use and do you also usr the Mos?

For CeraTec, the 300 ml bottle said it would treat 5 qts.
