Write Off Or Not!!!?????

Hi Guys
So last weekend I got into an accident and ended up hitting my 2011 c63's front end into a concrete block doing around 50-60 km/s. My insurance company is still working on it and hasn't gotten back to me yet. Here's a picture of the front when it was getting towed away. Do you think they will fix it or write it off?

I'd think it's a write off, given the values of 2011's. But that's just my guess.

Write off. Even if it wasn't I wouldn't take it back. Too much damage IMO. cars are never the same after a good hit.

Ouch. Sorry to hear about your accident.
I hope your insurance company sorts you out.
How did you manage to hit a concrete block

In 2006 my wife got nailed in a 2003 E320 just forward of the left front tire by a kid who ran two red lights in mommy's Acura.
The damage was extensive across the front end although the frame rails were pretty solid. The left side moved 3 mm and the right side was fine. They straightened that.
Replacement parts OEM were in the order of $28000 CDN (a headlight unit was $2200 and both were damaged.) In addition the air bag over her head and in the seat went off. They had to remove the headliner which meant the rear window had to come out which meant a new wiring harness for the heater and antenna. You get the picture.
The insurance company insisted that it be fixed so they paid pretty close to what the car was worth at the time including a rental for 8 weeks.
End result? The car looked perfect right down to all the underhood labels etc.
The front end alignment was never perfect. They did all they could with eccentric bolts etc. They even took it to another shop and checked the frame and it was fine but the car never drove the same. It always wanted to wander left. I always ran 2 psi more air pressure in the left front to compensate with some success.
When it came time to move it along out here in BC that accident followed and the value of the car was severely impacted.
My advice?
Take the market value and walk away. You will be further ahead in the long run or you will pay a penalty when it comes time to sell it.

I really hope they write that off for you! They are worth a lot for parts, so my guess it will cost more to fix on top of what it is worth in parts than what it is worth, so hopefully they will just cut you a check.

It was pissin rain and i was doing around 80 clicks on the hwy. I was holding the steering wheel real tightly as the puddle of water were making the car wobble a little bit. But out of nowhere my car started to skid to the right. I have no control what so ever here as i see the car about to hit the side barriers. It hit the left side first, then hit the back as it did a spin and hit the front again, finally coming to a hault. I was shocked to see that no airbags deployed. Thankfully i walked of withoit a scratch!!!

One of the things I gave yo keep in mind with this beast even more than the 2 SLKs I had is that with no 4Matic hydro planning especially on the summer tires is something to be vey much aware of.

Op that stinks....were your tires bald? Because my summer tires Contis DWs provide awesome traction in the rain.

It looks like it will be totalled....goodluck!

What is next?

what a shame. the "before" pic of your car looks great.
just be thankful you werent hurt. im surprised the airbag didnt deploy. front tyres look decent from your first pic (although i cant really tell for sure) how are the rear tyres before the accident? hydroplane can be really scary when it happens to you.

oh and btw, i wouldnt accept anything less than a write off. goodluck mate!

At least the side markers still work.

Sorry, but that's what stood out to me in the pic :S

Glad you weren't hurt. Good luck!

write off and be thankful...

I had a 5 mph fender bender in the sweet spot of hood, front fender, headlight, radiator mount... $10k in repairs.

Thank you soo much! for the replies. I forgot to mention that the driver side tire went flat and the alloy wheel is missin a small chunk!!! When the car was towed the guy told me that the suspention seems to be busted as the wheel wouldnt hold in place. He had to use some extra equipment to mount it on the truck. And moreover the rear bumber and all the four exhaust tips had some serious scratches. I feel real luck to walk away with no injury
I should have taken more picture of the car damages
