Looking to get Vornsteiner V-FF 101s for my white C63 but cant quite decide on if I like a black satin finish or a gloss black finish.

All my chrome pieces are wrapped black gloss so i'm not sure if the satin would go well with the car.

Which would you guys choose?

Gloss

Satin

Both finishes near each other

I have matte on my black one but I think I like the gloss a bit better, but it's your car and your personal choice.

I would do gloss. I would also get the vff-103's over the 101's if I wanted the split-Y design. But again, that comes down to personal taste which is something only you can tell yourself.

At the end of the day, if you're near a powdercoater, you could get them redone for $75-$100/wheel if you aren't happy with the outcome.

Post pics when you're done!

I would personally go with a different color. Something unique.
There are several different bronzes out there now.

Are you having them painted or are those the available options from Vornsteiner?
If that's the case, I'd go with gloss. Matte black looks like a DIY job these days.

I think gloss to match the grill, window trim etc. If you blacked out everything matte black on the windows and grill, then the matte wheels would look good.

The issue I do have with satin, is that they get caked with brake dust quickly. At least mine do.

Yeah man spice it up. Unless your running volk wheels with toyo tire lettering on it brighten it up.

If you listen to them and want to spice it up, I just want to say (I don't remember the user, but it was in AMG picture thread) someone had nice rims that were bright red on their 63. It really blended nicely.

I have satin black powdercoat from Forgestar -crap finish quality and no doubt the Vorsteiner will be much better. I found satin difficult to keep looking clean and I am now in the process of refinishing my wheels in gloss black with a 2 pack clear coat.

There are some great greys and bronzes out there - I am doing black because I this is my first serious attempt at a major spay paint job (compressor and gun) and i want to keep it simple.

Roswells red HRE's look stunning.

That was Roswell if you want to search

GRP beat me to it lol

I've got Vorsteiners in matte bronze and the finish is durable as hell. Brake dust seems to come right off and I run pads that are pretty brutal dust-wise

I just got them in carbon graphite for my white sedan. Snow on the ground tho so itll be a while before they go on.

I think that satin pic (2nd one) is a bit deceiving cos it looks more like matte. Otherwise Id say satin.

Brake dust should be less noticeable with satin.

I say step out of the norm. I was hesitant, but went with orange on my M4.
LOVED them!

Thanks everyone for the help I think i've decided on black gloss!

Vornsteiner suggested 19” x 8.5” ET45 front and 19” x 9.5” ET46 rear for offsets.

Would that look flush on stock p30 suspension and pss 245/35 front and 275/30 rear?

Thanks again everyone for all the feedback. It's much appreciated

That's going to cut it close. I tried 19x9.5 ET45 with 275 and it poked a little. I didn't actually run them and swapped out to 265.

In my opinion, a satin finish would me more suitable for your vehicle. In addition, it would be awesome if you went with a different colour. Something spontaneous like pink would totally make your car look spankin'!

Satin hides brake dust better... especially since the front will dust up quickly... I don't like seeing dirty front rims... gloss looks glossy only when spotless.

I agree, satin will help to hide the dust a bit more. Even when they get dirty, they will look grey before looking dirty.
