Mercedes Benz refuses to repair the issue on the car.

Took my m156 to a dealership to have the fuel pump tested....
They refused to do so because the car is "modified with an ecu tune and headers" and are making excuses.
the f**ks happened to mercedes in the last few years.
Im certainly going to change to audi or bmw in the next year or so.

Did you ask them to just do the work, or do it for free under warranty?

just to do the work paid, the car warranty has run out long ago.
I asked for testing of fuel pressure which they said *your ECU is throwing different codes we have to check that not what you're asking us to do blah blah our master mechanic feels disrespected*

Reminds me of the guy who asked the doctor for medicine for his cold and got a heart transplant instead.

Personal Experience with MB is they wouldn't do sh*t to my car with my aftermarket parts on it. My modified car "broke" the warranty. I faught them for so long on this it was ridiculous. Ended up removing all my mods and putting stock back on, going to a different dealership, get the work done, replace all my aftermarket parts (at the time wasn't so bad: Intercooler, Intake, ECU Piggyback, ChargePipe, Methkit).

Looking at all your previous post it seems you have been having a ton of problems with your car. Seems also that you have taken it in for repair repeated times if I'm not mistaken. Not sure if you have taken it to this same Benz dealer, but it seems the issues have not been fixed. At this point it seems a good option would be to remove your mods and go back to fully stock and see if it helps. At least at that point Benz wouldn't have somthing to blame the problems on. On another note it sounds like you might have pissed off the dealership slightly. Thinking that's why they are giving you push back on fixing your car. In my opinion it's never a good idea to go into a dealership and tell them what's wrong and demand things. If you truly want somthing fixed you let them fully diagnose the car and follow all avenues. Just my thought. If you truly knew what was wrong with the car you could have already fixed it yourself, but your taking it in to get it fixed. Let them do there thing.

Try out another dealership? Don't mention about the first place you took it to and see if this new place will do the work. The place I go to loves whenever I bring mine in. Now I don't have headers, but they do know about all my other mods and always ask about what I'm going to do next. Each place is different. Different atmosphere, people, experience. Keep trying out places and I'm sure you will find a good one.

Seems reasonable that a dealership who specializes and is comfortable with working OEM, unmodified cars, would say no. You're asking them to basically start chasing down a problem you have on a car they could no doubt work on, but wouldn't be 100% familiar with, when they could just go make their quick easy money working on unmodified easy jobs.

Because lets be real, something is wrong... And if they found something you'd ask them to chase the cause of that, and so on, until you finally got to the culprit. But, it took MB a little bit longer to do this because it is outside of what they normally work on and it turned out to be an issue related to your tune lets say, so you got hit with a few more hours of labor. Now they hit you with the bill and you aren't please so call other shops asking how much they could have done the same thing for, which is obviously less time, and you go back to Mercedes saying well they said what you did should only take this amount of time. And so on...

The dealer is just avoid that. All of that.

Perhaps you should try an indy shop... Or, put your car back to stock and get it running sound again. MB will help with that.

Perhaps you may want to dabble on those boards a little before making the switch. If you do, enjoy your fart noises!

That's like eating at McDonald's everyday because you love it at your local store because the people are nice and they always get your order right but when you were traveling the people were mean and there were pickles on your burger so you swear off McDonald's for life.

Breathe.

Two comments.
Try another dealer.
Since you are ready to pay for the testing and any repairs I don't get why they would not do a FP pressure/volume test for you for a price.
Go to an indy in your area who knows what they are doing. Surely you can find one with a bit of effort.

Yup, that's the sad reality, folks. If you value your warranty, try to modify after the warranty is over.

I get why an MB dealer doesn't want to do the work. An MB dealer has to stand behind their work and provide some sort of warranty for the work they do. With mods, they are essentially dealing in the realm of the OEM world, lots of variables and unknowns. So they may not want to put their name on the line when it comets aftermarket stuff. I totally get it. An indy really is the way to go on this one

Forget the dealer. Forget Jo Blow mechanic shops. For cars like this, I've learned you HAVE to go to specialty shops that know Eurocharged, Renntech, Kleeman, etc. These are the shops that speak our language. Everyone else just thinks tuning and the aftermarket world is a bunch of hooligans that don't know what they're doing when that's very clearly not the case.

You should see the look of some techs faces at Wheel Works when they see a three piece wheel. By the look on their faces, think you'd just showed them an alien.

Exactly. This shouldn't be surprising at all. It's completely out of their comfort zone.

here's an example...
You take your car for an oil change... the dealership refuses to do that unless they change the tires on your car even though you did not request tires just a simple oil change.
I had a simple request which they are turning into a big issue.
I've had modified m3 they've never turned a request down.
its quite funny purpleheartamg you need to get your head out of your ***.
And "slow_c63" yeah i am after they charged $4000 changing what they THOUGHT was the issue never fixxed the car.
Now they want to replace the whole ECU, if that doesnt work then they will check the fuel pressure.
They refuse to check the fuel pressure because apparently the "ECU TUNE" is throwing it out of wack or check the fuel pump.

Good luck dealing with Audi or BMW on warranty claims if you tune your next car...

Audi will void your warranty at the 1st sign the car was ever modified, it doesn't matter if you try to flash back to stock. Audi utilizes counters on the number of ECU flashes.

Believe it or not, MB has one of the least draconian policies when it comes to modifications.
