C63 Carbon Hood melted and caught engine on fire
My friends carbon fiber hood on his car was melting from the bottom onto the engine, I guess it wasn't a very good hood and was full of resin. He had a body shop look at it and they told him he should put his stock hood back on right away before it caused a fire.
Unfortunately he sold his stock hood and his car ended up catching on fire 2 days later.
I'm just suggesting that you keep an eye on any carbon fiber hoods that you guys might have on your car. If you see it distorting at all from the heat you should be very careful.

This has me thinking as well, but I assume and hope it was due to the amount or type of resin in the hood. My car came with CF air boxes but other than turning yellow from heat, they don't appear to have an over abundance of resin.

This is the first time I've heard of a CF hood causing an engine fire. I came from the JDM world where aftermarket cf hoods are standard fare.
