Tire size again

i believe the tire size thing is more talked about in the MB forum then any other car ever . Hahah . I have a simple question . What's the issue if any of running 265 35 18 rear and stock 235 40 front . I upsized both last time , which included a 245 40 front ,but the inside wall in the front way too tall and it's always look funny . But the rest is great . So thinking of going back to original size in front , but use the 265 in rear instead iof 255. I both street and track the car .

The rolling diameter is closer to matching if you run 235 /265. A 235 in the front is larger in rolling dia then the original rear 255.

The 'tire size thing' is only talked about so much because people like you make new threads without searching for answers first.

(hint: this has been discussed and answered six-hundred times so far)

Well smarty pants . I have searched actually for hours and the answers are all over the place . So I thought I'd ask . For you to assume that I didn't search first is not very nice . Just wondering what the latest was .

I don't think you're going to get any answers here because people are tired of answering the same questions over and over again for people like you who are too lazy to look it up themselves. Really, I feel your pain having to spend 5min searching through threads - I'm crying on the inside for you.

"The latest"? Things like rolling diameter and what % difference between F/R before the ABS freaks out, are ANSWERS THAT DON'T CHANGE. Things like "looks funny" are an opinion. The rest of your post and answers to yourself are nonsensical.

And now you can add your stupid post to the list of worthless threads some poor guy is going to have to wade through in the future. Congratulations. You see how this all works? Apparently not, because here are all of your other posts about the same thing:

I gave you some free hints there, you're welcome. Found all your answers with a 3sec search. Good luck.

I run 235/40/18 (F) 265/35/18 (R). Works great. I knew it would before buying because I researched on the forum. It was easy to find...

I don't mind replying because:
a. I'm nice to people in real life too
b. I searched this morning and found little facts in the threads I found. I need to replace my PSS rears and was debating going up to 265

some facts about the 265s:
they are each a pound heavier
they are only 0.3 inches wider in contact (Tread Width)

Just cause they "fit" doesn't mean they're better. maaaaybe in a straight line a tiny bit more rubber would help, but oversized tires on turns may be worse as sidewalls would be less stiff.

Everyone says finding this info is easy, however, when I type in (tire size, c63 tire, 2009 c63 tire size) I find a bunch of threads in relation to other cars or off the wall threads.

OP you are not the only one looking for this information. I was also finding it difficult to find info on the actual preferred tires that people are running.

Search only in the W204 C63 section then.

Thank you twinmill . I've been searching many threads , nobody really has an exact answer and tires change so much . Howeve I have enough information that I'm going with stock 235 40 18 up front and just upsize the rear to a 265 35 18. All in PSS . However the fallen avenue 615k+ looks nice and in XL , anybody tried these ? The website looks good and video makes it look like a great tire for on and off track

Anyone successfully fit 285's in the back ? I was looking a tire size chart and the 285 35 is a slightly shorter tire than the 255 which would help with acceleration.

285s have been run in the rear if you pick the right tire.

Shorter? I don't think so? Certainly not shorter than a stock 255/35-18.
25.02" for the 255/35-18 vs 25.85" for the 285/35-18

Mthis is running R888s in 285/30/18 dropped on KWs on stock wheels. Gzim and BLKRKT both run 285 19's on aftermarket wheels (19x10 or 11 i think).

285s on stock wheels for anything except drag racing wouldn't be ideal since they're only 9" wide. You'll be rolling sidewalls and compromising corning performance. Someone with more experience could probably speak to the actual safety aspect of 285+ on a 9" wheel but I imagine its not ideal.

Nah, I run 295 Sport Cups now.

But seriously.... search guys. It's all so available I just don't get why we need a new thread like this every week.

Only Nitto DRs in 285 fit on 18" rims with totally stock fenders, as they run skinnier than most (not great for the street though, super bouncy). I couldn't get 285s Dunlop Sport Max Race to fit on my 19x10's without some serious fender rolling. 295's take fender pulling at least.

Damn 295s! I didn't think you were going to get them to fit after reading through this thread

Did you have to pull your fenders or is it all camber/suspension work?

OP you should check out that thread btw, lots of great datapoints in there from Wobble/Diabolis and other knowledgeable forum members

Probably because the PS4S don't come in the 18 inch sizes we need

Definitely post your review once you've got a few track days on them! I've heard amazing performance reviews but it sounds like tire life is not up to par with other 200TW tires.
