Finally in a C63 AMG
Hi guys, Been on these forums for a while now and finally got in a 2011 white with black interior. I've looked a few this last year and was not happy with what i've found, most were just beat up and not taken car of. This one has 59k on the clock with all service records. Was told it had an AMG exhaust which didn't make sense since i though all of them had that exhaust and it looks the same. The seller told me that it was purchased directly from the dealer and sounds louder. Anyone can tell me if this is true or just bs? Other then that I need to find matching touch up 650U Calcite White paint somewhere, if anyone knows that would be great as well. Will post pic's soon. Thanks again for listening, glad to have one finally.
Best,
Brad

Yep, BS. They all come with the same exhaust. Take pictures from underneath sometime and post them. We'll tell you if it as OEM or aftermarket exhaust up there.

Congratulations on your car. Exhaust story sounds a little suspicious. I can't help with that however, I bought a small bottle of touch up paint from this place...

Agree on the exhaust, it sounds quite at start up and sounds pretty good when your on it. Will do an exhaust video similar to what i did with my rs4. Just makes no sense someone would mentioned something like that, i didn't look like any of the mid's or mufflers were removed either. Will grab some paint soon.

Congratulations! Yes same exhaust on all C63. Unless what he got wasn't explained properly by the people he got the exhaust from and it's an Eisanmann exhaust who built or builds AMG exhaust at some point with AMG. I think I got that right? But If it says AMG at the tips then it's a stock AMG exhaust. But receipts for the exhaust he bought would end the confusion which it doesn't seem he had. But anyways congrats again on the ride!

As promised some photos, need to fix some small stone chips and scuffs which will keep me busy. Had her up on the lift and aligned the tips then polished them, all looks good underneath. Going to get her tinted next week and would like to do the oil change myself. What oil you guy's are running?
Also you guys were right, the exhaust is bone stock which is actually nice to see. Same with the intake air filters stock glad to see all the mod's id do where not there lol (not a kid owned). She's currently at 59k miles which was more then i wanted to purchase one with but being 2nd owner and over all condition made me make the move. Now comes some questions. I'm thinking the plugs where not changed since Merc doesn't recommend changing them to later or so i thinking, when would they need be to change the plugs and if they should be which should I go with? Is it worth doing the airbox mod (remove carbon filters and dropping in K&N filters)? What is the best tune , eurocharge v5? What is the recommended oil i should run? oh and why do i see other C63 amgs with out the front fender light like mine, I'm assuming an 2011 is before face lift? Wondering what the differences are. Does 2011 have head bolt issues that i need to address? If so can I find out what exact service was completed from Merc or will they not share that information. Sorry for all the questions.

Congrats on your new ride. Very nice.
The side indicators are standard on all US spec C63's. Most guys just blank them out as they don't look nice.
ROW airbox and tune will give you a nice bump in power. Eurocharged seems to be a very popular choice in the States. They have recently released their v6 tune.
If you want more, then get headers. Sounds insane.

rock on, i have an email into Eurocharger but nothing back yet. Would love headers if i can find a super quite cat back system with cats. Do not like the none cat smell and to loud but love the sound you get with a true long tube.

Congrats on the C63, looks great.
For recommended oil use MB Bevo 229.5 specification. I prefer a 5w40 but Mobil 1 0w40 is an official and popular choice.
This is the spec sheet for all engines but read it carefully or you will not get it right. http://bevo.mercedes-benz.com/d/d/en/Spec_223_2.pdf
This is the 229.5 sheet containing recommended oils. Use only 0w40 or 5w40 according to MB specs (see notes). http://bevo.mercedes-benz.com/bevolisten/229.5_en.html
The recommended interval for spark plugs is 100,000 Km or 60,000 miles or 4 years. Yours are due. I would only use MB recommended plugs that you may find cheaper at auto stores or online retailers. MB part #A004 159 39 03 or NGK R ILZKAR7A10.
Run the VIN in the C63 VIN Decode thread to get your Data card and figure out your options and the engine # to see if it is over the effected range. https://mbworld.org/forums/c63-amg-w...in-decode.html

You are probably okay for the head bolts but I don't see the engine # in all that VIN decode you posted. Do you have the engine #? If not post your VIN in the thread I linked to and ask Joe to run a data card for your car. It will have an engine # and then you will know about the head bolt issue for sure.

I saw in another thread that if your engine numbers was higher than 60658 ( the last 5 digits), then you are safe.
Yours is 66720 so I assume you are good.

Thanks again Mort. Ok now i have a few questions issues hopefully someone can point in in the right direction in how to address/fix correctly.
1) the up and down on the power steering adjust doesn't work I hear it but doesn't move up and down. In and out no problem. (edit) seems this is common and fixed with a 5 dollar dog bone but job is pita
2) Though I ordered plugs / oil / filters I haven't done it yet. But I do smell some oil burning smell as if there is an intake or other type of leak. Any standard issues with valve cover or other thinks leaking? Wondering if it pull the lower cover off when doing oil change I'll find the leak???
3) Ordered a cabin filter since it does seem to have an odor, my wife thinks they all smell like crayons. I think it's the leather but want to make sure. Are the cabin filters difficult to change out?
Other then that I'm starting to learn her the more i drive it. I know alot o people talk crap about the 7g trans but its kind of nice. This is coming from owning some of the best DTC on the market. Feels very smooth, wondering how much different the car will feel with the V6 Eurocharged tune in her.

Now i'm wondering if there is anyway of knowing if my tune is stock or tuned. The whole are seems stock as stock can be, if its stock im pretty impressed with the performance thus far. Already set up a date with our local dyno for Thursday. Anyone want to guess the hp/tq at the wheels?

Guys any suggestions on Dynoing one of these beast? I've read to say in 4th while 5th is 1/1 but if its stock limiter would kick in in 5th, correct? Also assuming its safe to say leave in sport and remove traction control? Pretty basic right? If it really bone stock i'm looking at 350-360 rwhp if all goes right. Eurocharged v6 has already shipped

Sounds like you have it except you will need it in M and traction off to hold it in whatever gear you choose. There is also Dyno mode you can get with the steering wheel controls. Same menu used to reset the maintenance counter. Depending on the dyno and the day 360-380 whp maybe as low as 340 on a heartbreaker. Hood up and the more fan the better.

Your right on Mort I value your input! Our first run it saw 420 rwhp but he had the rpm off since he had to set it to the dyno instead of the spark plug. So once he adjusted to match the rpm of the motor we ran it again and got 341/372 to the wheels. We then let it cool down and ran in 5th which confirmed 155 speed limiter. She's bone bone stock down to the charcoal air filters and stock everything. Kind of happy since its stock and pretty darn fun as is. V6 tune will be here tomorrow, then I have to send Eurocharged my stock file. Anyone want to guess again what it should make with the V6 tune and everything else stock? I'm hoping for at least 400 rwhp but who knows.

After running her bone stock on the dyno'd yesterday its time to changed the oil, filter, plugs, new air filter change as well as removed the charcoal filters yesterday.
Looking at plugs we pulled out we noticed the Mercedes emblem, are these stock original plugs (59k miles) or are they just the type of plugs that the dealer installs with their emblem on it?
Currently waiting for UPS to show up with the Eurocharged parts. Anyone have any tips on downloading the stock tune? Praying I don't need a windows based machine, all we have is Mac.
Old plug on left new on right.

Tune install update:
The guys over at Eurocharged are quick and seem to be really on top of the turn around for me. Installed the tune and drove around town for an hour. Freaking love the car even more so now, wow! Can surely feel the difference from this V6 tune shift feels no different not sure if its suppose to, throttle blips on down shifts seem perfect too! looking forward in going back to the dyno to see what difference as well as air fuel.
One issue though, as much as I'd like to ignore the pinging I just can't. Spoke with Jeremy over at Eurocharged about the low gearing full throttle pinging its doing. He confirmed I'm using 93 octane here in FL. Funny how this car doesn't ping under heavy load high gear similar to other older cars I use to tune would ping. Did some searching and it seems I'm not alone and this does happen to others when doing a tune. Jeremy also mentioned they do not change the timing which I believe but there is something else going on in the change to cause this. I'm assuming it's a/f related? Anyway if anyone has been through this or has any advice please let me hear it.
