7G trans starting in 2nd gear but in S, is it possible?

7G trans starting in 2nd gear but in S, is it possible?

Wondering how to do this since I really do enjoy driving in C 90% of the time for the reason it starts out in 2nd gear. I'm assuming (correct me if I'm wrong) the only difference between C and S with the 7g trans (pre-face lift) is the gear it starts in (2nd gear in C), RPM it shift's at WOT (lower RPM in C) and also holding RPM gear/down shifting more aggressive in S, correct? When you're in S the only RPM it will allow you to shift into 2nd is at around 3k rpm or higher which sucks since it's a slow shifting or you just miss the shift altogether since 1st gear is retardedly fast under WOT etc.. It's impressive to start out in 2nd with the amount of torque she has for N/A. I drive my hellcat the same way, as soon as i'm at a stop I shift into 2nd since there is plenty of torque to carry out the long gear roll/smoother take off without looking/sounding like an idiot in S. Can't imagine having a roots style blower on this car, but that's another subject.

unpossible to do it in S. C is the only mode to do that.

AFAIK S/S+/M only start in 2nd gear when the outside temperature (and therefore gearbox) is below a certain point (seems to be <40-50F)

So facelift 12-14 can do this? Shame it couldn't be programmed to do this if you wanted to.

yeah mine will allow 2nd gear starts in both s and m if the transmission and outside temperature are both on the colder side
Like the op I enjoy starting in 2nd gear it would be interesting if one of the tubers could tune the transmission unit to allow this

Glad to hear I'm not the only one, will have to ask Kevin over at Eurocharger. Have a feeling it something not easy and is controlled by the trans controller, not motor tuning unfortunately.

I had some issues when I got my car with 1st and 2nd gear starts in C which of course I got trashed on because "it cannot happen" except when the selector switch goes wonky and can't decide whether it is in C or S etc.
Since it was changed it will only start in 2nd in C. All other selections are in 1st. For certainty I tested it today.
Can't be done. No comment on low temp conditions.

only luck I've had is starting in c then onces you have rolled a few feet you can switch to m quickly and it will hold 2 too light of throttle or slow of a speed and it will slam down into 1st
