That was a rough read but still he could have structured his sentences better.
That is a very general couple of questions you asked. If you are getting beat by Porsche then you have not upgraded your GTR enough or left it relatively stock.
The CLS, SL and C63 or C63s are all pretty different cars/types/price points, so that would be up to you to decide on which one you want.
The best bang for buck would have to be C63 or C63s if you are only doing a tune and headers/downpipe.

If you don't want to get smashed by Porsche Turbos anymore, you're not looking at the right car.

Love the R8 V10. Theres one that rolls by my place all the time that I think has the Akrapovic exhaust. Cant run out there fast enough to catch him, but that's what it sounds like. VERY horny car.

No worry about English ability. This is a car forum to find out infos about cars, not an English class.

My nearby shop does Merc AMG mods and drops twin turbos onto the R8 V10. Talk about overkill. No need to fear Porsches. Or low-flying aircraft, for that matter.

Like previous posters have said, none of these 3 cars is going to beat a 911 turbo s, unless modified... some by quite a bit and at great expense... that GTR could of beaten it with mods, again at great expense.... sounds like you had issue's with it and just want out... I/We can understand that ![Smilie](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
You mention SL63 and weekends, nice ride for weekends, my nephew had one for a few years, fast, comfortable and great engine noises![Smilie](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
He had no major issues other than he is certifiable behind the wheel and shredded a few sets of tires...
Like another poster said, check the AMG SL63 forums for specific info...
Good Luck![Smilie](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)

I think of the R8 as the GTR's german cousin, with their AWD and all. The v10 brings it to another level of course, and I can only imagine twin turbo's on it!
i thought reliability was pretty solid on both, I'm suprised to hear issues with a GTR.

gtr with FBO can break the rods easily when rods break block well break , you should upgrade the piston and rods with ARS and its cost alot .
i dont like r8 i prefer amg car more than audi and i dont care about 911 or supercar , what i want fun and reliability car with good maintenance and can keep long time with no issue at all

The C63 N/A is a fun car, built like a tank. It really depends on what you want to spend, the styling, and your own personal taste. Just do some research and narrow it down.

2014 C63 AMG 507 sedan
If you're hunting 911 turbos, the NA C63 is not a good choice. You'll have a better chance with a FBO GTR. Any reason you can't get a newer model GTR, than what you have? The SL63 will be a handful at the track. If you want an AMG, try a C63s with down pipes, tune, and suspension. Better yet, a GTS.

I owned a 2012 GTR, but sold it after having problems with with transmission and engine.
I drove my friend's 2014 C63 Edition 507 sedan with full bolt ons. I'm realizing that power is not everything. The C63 has enough power for me. I think it is a better brand than Nissan with better quality and reliability. I like the AMG more than Ms and GTRs. My GTR was a good track-only car, but was not a good weekend car. It was not fun to drive. It didn't look as good as a 911 turbo and wasn't as powerful.
I'm thinking of buying a used car in good condition. I'm considering a 2015 C63s, 2014 SL63, or a 2014 CLS63. Can you give me your opinion on which is better? I understand that they are different classes of cars, but I am really concerned with reliability and how fun it is to drive. I plan on keeping the car for more than 5 years. It will be a street-driven, weekend car. I will not track it at all. I only plan to add a downpipe (headers?) and tune.

I don't have much to add because I don't know much about the SL63 or CLS63. Hopefully other people can talk about the long term maintenance and reliability. I think that if you are favoring the SL63, you need to post in the SL subforum and ask for owner opinions. Good luck.

Really great job there, BadCo. That makes a LOT more sense.

I've driven an SL550 (same chassis as the SL63) and a CL63 (same engine) and honestly don't think the SL63 would satisfy your "fun to drive" criteria as well as say a FBO C63 or Black Series would, especially coming from a GTR. If you're looking for more comfort and want a convertible, the SL is hard to beat but to me it falls more into the comfortable rocketship than "fun" weekend canyon carver.
I'd vote C63 Black Series:

Bonus points for a depreciation curve that'll be easier to swallow over the 5+ years you plan to own it plus the M156 engine has been proven to be quite bulletproof.
