IIRC, when I was tuning my boosted TL years ago and logging everything, throttle position would never read 100% during WOT. I believe thats normal

I had a couple suggestions---
easiest is to connect your the reader/tool back to your computer, do the check for updates 3 times then upload the flash software EC gave you again to the box
flash your car and see if that helps
If that doesn't help there is a setting in STAR to reinitialize your throttle body -- try that
And lastly if that doesnt work there is another setting in star to reinitialize your ECU -- try that as well

Finally talked to EC on Friday and it seems like they have no idea what's going on! Jerry who has been on vacation since 4th is back on Monday and hopefully he can help! I'll keep you posted. Very hard to remain calm

loungn14 did you guys help him out more? Everything worked fine until doing the tune then after that TB won't open all the way while driving it appears from previous posts. Perhaps you could send him a STAR and help him trouble shoot? If no changes were done except for a flash it is some glitch in the tune or the tune caused a glitch with the car even if it has been successful hundreds of times.
heligarret what did EC say Monday?
Did you try my recommendations? Update the tool 3 times/reload/reflash the tune? Take it back to where you had the STAR diag done and reset TB/ECU?
That's typical for a dealer they won't touch cars that are modded until it's back to factory specs. If you continue with the dealer you will spend way too much and they will in the end probably tell you to replace the ECU since it was flashed.

the problem is even if he goes back to stock software the issue is still there. That typically tells me there is a hardware issue. The only other time I have personally seen this is when something fails on the dyno. I am still leaning toward him having clogged cats.
Op do you get any bad smells from the exhaust?

I don't think u have clogged cats as it did 2 pulls north of 415whp 15 min before and the only thing u did was flash the car.
Now the dealership said no because of row boxes so I'm betting the previous owner had a tune on it and you glitched your ecu.
Put stock boxes or buy some off eBay for like 200 and take it to another dealer and have they re flash the whole ecu.

This is possible and experienced it myself. On another tune on a different model car, I had an EC tune that actually did modify other parameters in the ECU I had to redo myself after months of trying to figure out.
Bottom line from what you went through is a software issue caused from the initial flash. Reverting back to stock still had the problem because the flash caused the glitch.
Try my recommendations reflashing, then resetting the TB then ECU.

just saying....found another post mentioning exactly what I was saying about the tune causing a glitch in the ECU not allowing the TB to open
https://mbworld.org/forums/c63-amg-w...ml#post6864091
Apparently this is an issue that can plague stock motors too and it's supposedly to do with the throttle bodies not opening. The issue can either be mechanical or tune related (a parameter in the tune that doesn't allow the throttle bodies to open fully and it's meant to be a pain in the *** to find).

Update, The dealer diagnosed ME Control unit faulty! Car out of warranty by 2.5 months! Dealer told me that its not covered by warranty and wanted $2800! I asked them for a goodwill gesture from MB. They said that they would not cover it.
I asked for the MB 1800 # and called myself. They took all my details and called back to say they would give me $300 discount off the repair and the dealer would give me $100 discount. I told them this was completely unacceptable. After a long discussion I got nowhere!!!
I called EC and they asked me to ship the control unit to them. I called the dealer and told them to put my car back together and I would pay for diagnosis and that I was taking the car to BMW that day to trade in for an M4. I got a call back 10 minutes later to say they were going to cover it 100%.
I got the car back and its driving like a champ! I then called EC and asked for a refund. They asked for hand held back and after inspecting it THEY would refund me. I shipped it back today so I will keep you posted on refund!
I really want a tune but am on the fence after this experience.....

Diagnosed it as a faulty ECU? Wow, first time I've heard of that one. Glad you got it fixed and thank you for coming back and posting a resolution to your thread!
I wonder what Eurocharged's response is as to what could have caused this. I know a majority on here have their tunes, but I feel like they also have the most issues vs other tuners. I have their tune on our S65 AMG and its been flawless. Wonder what's up on this platform?

They just flashed the ecu back to oe with latest update.most likely fixed it already and tried to pull a quick one on you.
When u called to get the car back it was probably already fixed and they could not corrupt it again lol.
Hit up oetuning and try there tune.you won't be disappointed
