Don't use photobucket to host forums images
Apparently, they now charge $399 per year to be able to host images.
So basically any DIY thread or thread with images using photobucket are somewhat useless, my journal included, because account owners now have to pay, which no one is going to do.
What sh*t...
End rant.

I do think that Photobucket has way too many ads which you spend a lot of time clearing each time you visit. That was not the case in the past.

Sure, but for older DIY threads, or my any build thread using photobucket, we're SOL unless we want to sit there and replace each image throughout the thread. That'd take a few hours.

That's why it's always best to upload pics directly to the forum if at all possible.

This is what happens. Old photo hosting goes away. It's a zero-profit business model. Just look through MBW or any old forum, and you'll see that older DIY and other threads with pictures are all "X" or otherwise disabled.

Yeah I would think it would probably take me two hours to do the following:
1) Download every picture from my journal to my PC from Photobucket
2) Upload every picture to Imgur
3) Grab each individual imgur URL and replace with the current photobucket URL. (each image has a unique url, so it's not like I can just replace all)

I always upload using imgur.com. I don't know how long the photo's last but I see lots of threads where photobucket images are gone, and I don't want to post a diy or else and lose the pics.

i've been using photobucket for about 15 years...
spent past weekend re-uploading on imgur and changing links to all of my threads/posts...
attaching files on the forum is safest, but i just don't like to click each one of them to enlarge...

Testing now by uploading three different sized images.

Total pain to have to re-upload and change links on old threads, but whatever. I'll do it on a plane ride I guess...

Really? I've been using photobucket for many years.. Luckily I don't post on forums much anymore.
