Well VP110 is leaded gas. So unless you don't care about destroying your cats and O2 sensors, I wouldn't use it for an extended period of time. Like as replacement for regular gas. That's just a stupid idea.
Secondly, race gas does produce more power whether you have a specific tune for it or not. It's been documented, by me, as having a two-tenths and 2mph advantage in the 1/4 mile with everything else being the same, on a stock tune.

Do you know how long it takes for the ecu to bump the timing up (ie do you have to drive with the mixture in the tank for x number of miles before it is felt) and do you know roughly how much it goes up by?

These engines should benefit from a bit extra octane at the track due to their electronic timing control. The ecm won't pull much timing and will protect from ping.
I'd shoot for 100oxtane no more though.

In ricer math, that's like...20-30hp hp extra, right? Interesting.

Exactly. Sunoco GT250 or VP MS109 are both 100 octane unleaded and more than good enough.

I wonder how much of a difference a blend of 5 gallons of 100+ octane + 10 gallons of regular 93 octane will make. Guessing it'll mix up to a cocktail mix of just under 97 octane? would be a very expensive way to run it for the street like that, but then if it's a weekend only car and you can afford it during the summer months...
