Is this C63 AMG Fake or Real?
Hey everyone,
I have a pretty modified C300 but I don't pretend it is a C63. I went with different single tips but kept the single tips to prove I'm not trying to pose as something I'm not, even though it is debadged. This girl at my University drives what appears to be a C63 AMG W204, one of the facelift models. Although I always thought it was real because it has all of the correct badging, today I noticed it has the 17" wheels that are on my C300 and has the chrome door trim, which I thought C63s did not come with. However, it does have the AMG and C63 badge as well as quad tips, and the 6.3L badge. The only thing throwing me off are the 17" wheels, the chrome door trim, and it has a C300 grille and foglights. I thought the C63 foglights were slightly different on the facelift c63s. Any opinions?
Thanks guys!
Edit:
I did a license plate search because she has a vanity plate, came up as a C300 ahhahahaha I knew it!

To me, the easiest way to visually check the validity of an AMG or M vehicle, is to look at the brakes. AMG and M brake components are not cheap, and I believe there's a very slim crowd willing to drop over $2k on front brakes alone, just to make their car look like an AMG or M.
Don't mean to thread-jack, but just the other day I was pulling into my local grocery store and spotted what seemed to be a de-badged E60 M5 parked in the lot. I parked my car and was walking to up to it - had the M5 rear bumper cover, M5 exhaust, M5 wheels painted black... so far so good. Then I looked at the brakes and lolled; they were practically the same as the ones on my wife's Ford Escape!

Facelift C63, over here at least, don't have front fog lights. It's also rare that fakers will drop $ on a wider front end conversion and humped hood.
Is she hot? You might have a way in due to common interest .

Lol unfortunately have yet to see her, tinted windows make it difficult to tell lmao. I'm quite sure it is a C300 especially after the license plate check.

I always immediately look for the brakes as well.
There is one guy that's had this car listed on craigslist for a few months now though. Price started around $25,000 and it's slowly coming down. Not sure what KBB is, but it's got a rebuilt title so I doubt he gets anywhere near that amount.

"The car is an absolute head turner and looks and sounds like a beautiful Satin Black exotic C63 AMG from the inside and out, yet you don't have to deal with the pricey AMG maintenance, nor headache."
Yeah, or the AMG power. Just don't ever pop your hood in front of people. Sounds like an AMG? Yeah, ok. I hate this type of garbage.

C63 has a noticeably longer hood bc our engine is noticeably larger. Honestly, I think our cars look somewhat weird with the longer hood. If that chick’s car looks visually balanced from the side, then it’s not a C63.

If its not the brakes that give it away, its the front bumper (no side fangs) or side markers. Chrome trim on the side as well.
