P31 Brakes (Don't crucify me please)
First I would like to start by saying that I have seen/researched through this forum and understand that this topic has been beat to death.... BUT I am on the hunt for a C63 and, as many other people have mentioned, I am worried about the cost of brakes.
Situation: I found a 2012 C63 with the 507 and it has the performance brakes.... From what I have read, the brakes can be switched the the regular 1 disc brakes which are much cheaper... So for due diligence I decided to call my local MB dealership to ask if I could switch the 2 piece brakes for the regular 1 piece C63... After giving him the last 8 digits of the VIN he explicitly said "No because the weight, power, and specs of the 507, the regular brakes are not compatible. They might fit but they will not perform correctly"
Questions: Can I change PP brakes for the 1 piece? Is the service advisor BSing me to squeeze me for every measly dollar I have? How was your day?
I just want to make sure as I have more faith in the truthfullness of the people in this forum than the service advisors of the "stealerships" as many I have seen on this forum call them.
Thanks in advanced!

Lots of people do it without issue, answer is a bit german you got, but 507 basically weighs the same, makes a bit more power, not like it is 100 more or twice as much and not like you drive on the autobahn all day (not that a 507 goes faster anyway). Really the 2 piece (and they are not really even 2 piece as they can't be separated so you can replace the rotor on the hub) are lighter, so help a little with handling and they shed heat better, so may be better on the track (although you are probably better with something else on the track anyway for rotors).
Really no issue, saves you like a grand or more and for normal usage on the street and most people won't even notice a difference in performance.

What do you mean when you say you have a 2012 C63 with the 507? I don't believe that combination exists except for 2014 sedan, coupe and 2015 coupe. You probably mean you have a 2012 C63 with the P31 marketing option in US, APX option in Canada and perhaps PPP worldwide. It was originally referred to as The AMG Development Package (Code P31) for the US market.
I agree for street use the one piece rotors and pads will work very well. That is what most of us have on our cars.

If you do some research, you can find brake pads and rotors for cheaper. I found the BS brake rotors for almost half the cost after figuring out what the Brembo part number was for the car.

The regular version of the ones he is talking about are the 2 piece that came on the P30 package: 2194210212 / Brembo 09976423 (https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/bra...mbo-2194210212).
They fit fine / are lighter than the solid one pieces and are still much cheaper than the P31 1.5 piece (no one else makes those but Mercedes). Brembo does not sell the hats you have to buy the whole rotor each time.
