Another E85 newb question

Seriously considering the E85 flex kit but only have one question. The gas station near my house has an E85 pump that shows 105 octane and it's $2.05/gallon. Would I be ok filling it up every time with no problems? The $$$$ per horsepower is really enticing but I don't want to disappointed if that 105 E85 isn't the best for that kit because that gas station is really just one minute from my house.

e85 has a typical octane rating of 105. If the ethanol content is in the 80 percent range you will see 105 octane. Most pumps give a range of 51 to 85. So the octane rating varies. If you have the flex kit. You won't have any issues filling up at that gas station or any gas station that has varying percentages of ethanol in the e85. E85 is more of Just a name thing FYI.

You would be fine, pretty much all E85 will fall into the 105 octane category. Any blend you want to run at any time.

Thanks

Noob fuel line question. Can you guys describe where/how to release fuel line pressure? I think there was the mention of a releasing pressure/fuel through a port somewhere before unbolting the lines? Pic?

as long as the car is off its not high pressure. I wrapped a rag around the line and it was fine. It did not spew out and the rag cought it all.

Hey would you be willing to post a closer pic of your control unit with how the two fuel lines connected? Just curious cause the two vids he did were shot kinda far back and so I can't make out the details. I know I'm sure it would be self-explanatory if I had the unit in my hand but I'd like to reference an install. Helps with the confidence you know...

Good questions. I'm doing the install next weekend and was wondering where people were inserting the ethanol sensor.

With the airbox out its easier to see, but I didn't do that. The blue connector is the fuel line attached to the ethanol sensor. The brain box is tucked behind where the spring perch is at. Hopefully this helps. When you get the pieces it will make sense. The silver nut and metal fuel line is attached to the fuel rail. It's pretty easy.
